Dealer called. He said car "in transit" &
will arrive at dealership (Boston area) this coming week or the next. Was ordered 7/19/24: first day 2025 M240's went on USA configurator. Seems things moved quickly once car was "assigned to carrier." Bob |

Even the 'simple' delivery steps can go wrong
There are lots of moving parts to the production and delivery of our ordered cars; even what seems to be a trivial step in the process can go wrong and mess up the schedule. My 230i is on the Glovis Courage and, apparently, can't get off. Here's what happened.
After 2 weeks in RFT status, I was notified( later confirmed by BMW Genius) that my car was on the Glovis Courage which left Altimera on the 22nd and bound for Brunswick, GA with ETA on the 26th of October. Great news; that would be the appropriate port for transit to my dealership. I fully expected that within a few days after the 26th, I would be notified that a carrier was assigned and the car would be on the way to the dealer. No such luck. I figured something might be amiss when the Courage spent 5 days in Brunswick and still no notice. Them, on Nov 1st, the Courage headed for Philadelphia. Interestingly, the ship tracking apps showed that the previous port was Altimera, not Brunswick. It was as if the ship never stopped (or docked ) in Brunswick. BMW Genius confirmed that there was no notice that my car was offloaded in Brunswick and at that VPC. So, I am starting to think that there must be a problem with the ability of the Courage to successfully dock and unload at the BMW auto facility. Was the problem with Brunswick or the Courage? Well, this morning, I am following the Courage up the Delaware River, only to see it pass by the large Glovis Auto port ( just past the airport) and finally dock at a small non-auto facility with cranes. Now, I know these cars have to be driven off, not lifted off the ship, so this cannot be the final destination. There are presently no other ships docked at the auto facility, so the Courage is not waiting for a berth there. I'm thinking that the current status of the Courage is that it is docked in Philadelphia for repairs to whatever aspect is preventing it from successfully docking and unloading at an auto facility. How long will that take? Who Knows. So, as of now, my car is like Charlie on the MTA. It may ride forever... So, even the apparently simple step of docking and unloading can go wrong. Hopefully, this can all be fixed soon. |

Its also possible that other cargo must be unloaded before the cars can be unloaded... but I'm no expert in the cargo loading of large boats.

Back to Brunswick
It looks like the repair to the Courage was made in Philadelphia, so the ship is now back on its way to Brunswick with an ETA of Monday morning. Hopefully, the repair was successful and I can get the car about a week later.

I kinda suspected that the app just hadn't updated, but I was trying my best to not get my hopes up

My car is also on the Glovis Sun carrier. My dealer said the estimated arrival date was on the 9th! Hoping either that or next week, can't wait!

Hi all, I ordered a 2025 PBM with Cognac M240i Xdrive on 10/12/24 with my dealer.
10/12/24 - Order placed 10/19/24 - Production begins 11/2/24 - Final assembly (I know I'm missing steps, but this is the sequence I remember) I'm e-mailed genius to see why it is still in Final Assembly, just waiting on a response. Can't wait to rejoin the BMW family |

Dealer expects my car to arrive at the dealership by next Friday, after delivery in jersey on Saturday.
Currently getting winter wheels and tires mounted an balanced, scheduling ceramic and tint, and of course preparing to install all my mods. So pumped!

Congrats! Maybe I can meet up with you when you pick it up? I'm 10 minutes away from HC. Waiting on my car which is currently at final assembly.

Just wondering, how many weeks did it take to get to this point for you? I was told 12 to 16 weeks. I am at 16 days since ordered and I'm at final assembly. I don't want to jinx things but it seems to be going quite smoothly and crossing fingers it arrives earlier. |

Ordered the 25th, build started 26th, of September. So total delivery time will be like 8-9 weeks from order. I would say that my build was uncommonly fast...

Similar for me. I put down my deposit on Sept 19 and I'm at the drop off port with delivery to the dealer the only step left. I feel like it's been a really quick turnaround.
