Interesting. Thanks for that. My current status on the app is 9 - Final assembly. However Genius says it’s at 11 - Awaiting Carrier Assignment (Although what it actually tells me is it’s been assigned to a carrier and is awaiting transport to port of exit). The car went onto the assembly line and was finished all the way to released to a carrier on 1/31.

How long were you sitting in Ready for Transport? I have a feeling I may have at least a few more weeks to wait until it’s on a ship.

It is really sad how a technology company like BMW can know exactly where every car is, but not have the customer interface updated to reflect that. They write the interface so that it looks great and has 16 steps so the expectations from customers are high about tracking their cars, but they don't update it, so expectations are not met. Fail.

True it needs a lot of work but overall it is pretty neat. It’s my first new car so I don’t know how other manufacturers compare but the long wait would have been a lot worse without the app.

I was in RFT since 16 January.

We'll see if I got bamboozled by the tracker depending on how long it sits in 195 for.

Honestly, no tracker is better than a bad tracker.

Thanks. So I definitely get the feeling I should expect a 2-3 week wait before I’m on a ship. At least. I won’t be surprised if it ends up being more like 4-6 weeks.

It depends if you can find a dealer with an allocation. It would likely be for a March or April allocation at this point, which would mean that's when your car would be built.

If you get what are called individual colors, that can add a significant amount of time to the build however, since they group together a number of cars with the same color to be produced at the same time.

After a car is built, it can then take 1-2 months for it to be delivered typically, depending on where you are located.
