I’m still watching you guys closely to get a good average time from order to delivery. My current car is a lease and ends April. I am trying to get the timing of ordering mine without getting it too early and have double car payments, vs it coming too late and I already had to turn my current lease in. I’m growing impatient though and want to order it now. I’m thinking maybe I order in Dec and maybe get it Feb/march? So hard to guess!

What's the stats on your lease? Residual vs market value?
When my 2018 s5 lease was ending, I just went and bought my new car and traded the s5 into the dealer (not the same brand or dealer I got the S5 from). They paid off the lease and sold the car, but the Financials were favorable to that arrangement.

Residual is 37k, carmax would give me 35. It’s a 22 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited. BMW dealership said they would give me 28k and I laughed. But the guy that came up with that number is brand new and I don’t think he looked up the right model. It only has 16k miles. The lease is through Ally, which is a nightmare to get out of and makes it impossible to sell to another dealership. So ultimately I’m better off just handing Jeep the keys when the lease is up.
Honestly if I get the new car I can afford to just park the Jeep at my house for 2 months and make the payment. Not sure what the early term fee would be but just doesn’t seem like it’s working paying for ending early and better off to just park it in my garage! Just trying to avoid not having TOO long making both payments |

For some reason, they are going to take the boat and move it from port in Philly to port in jersey, which is super far by water but basically like 1.5hr away on land. I guess It must make sense in boat logic.

Yes, it’s exhausting trying to figure out BMWs logistics. The Boat left Baltimore a day or two ago and my BMW app just updated today.

I too am now back at port. That wait from 9/27 to 10/30 was painful. Dealership has reached out and next week she’s mine. Ordered 8/27, VIN assigned 9/3, final assembly 9/27, in transit 10/30. Coming to the forums I learned so much about BMW Genius and tracking of vessels which is now quite the hobby. Thank you all.

Not yet! The dealer said it'd be there on the 8th and so far nothing. Status went to at port again, but Glovis Sun left Baltimore days ago! Maybe the transporter doesn't move cars on the weekend and on Veteran's Day?

Read on the g87 thread that there can be at least 5 days of normal processing through the port, which makes complete sense. Once it's on the truck it's basically gonna be at the dealer within 24hrs.
