and sorry to break the thread, but another surprise. The fuel tank isn't as bad as all the stories online. It's holding about 340 miles. The only thing I miss from the 440 is the drive assistant professional and 360 cameras, I don't know why BMW missed the latter on the M2 considering the 240 has it.

Are you sure you can permanently disable it as from my recollection it states that the setting is reset when you restart the car? Unless you found another menu?

Maybe just set it to come on 20 mph above speed limit. I think you can go deep into the settings and change the status (UK) or ask the assistant..

Update see the online manual

Sorry. My error. Can permanently stop lane departure. Not speed warning. Drive in Sport in M mode and both are disengaged.

Hmmm.....set my M1 button up to be Sport across the board (engine, chassis, etc) and both the speed limit audio warning and the lane assist were still active. Will go back and try that method again just to be sure but fear that this is going to be a case of waiting for someone cleverer than me (Bimmercode?!) to be able to reprogramme this nannying shite out of the system.

Sport via the M Mode switch configures lane assist and speed limit info off. From what you say specifying sport in the M1/M2 config is not the same. Page 200 on my PDF manual.

Try accessing your M1/M2 settings after going into Sport from the M Mode switch.

M mode and the M1 and M2 settings are independent of each other- annoyingly! M Mode only controls the display and the nannying settings like speed limit and lane assist. M1 and M2 configure engine, brakes, steering, traction control ie. Performance related aspects.

Just to be clear: Sport in M Mode is different to Sport settings for Engine, brakes etc when configuring M1 and/or M2. They do different things and work independently of each other and not in combination.

OK thanks yep tried the M button and then put into Sport and it does disable those two settings. Am I right in thinking that, again, I'd have to do that everytime I started the car though or can you programme it to always be on that setting?

Need to select Sport in M Mode every time. You can turn off lane assist in settings permanently. Long press on set removes speed warning. Need to do that every time you start the car.

I can’t see how to turn off the wheel vibration/tugging permanently, it keeps coming back on every time I start up - if that’s what you mean. Mind doing an idiot’s step-by-step guide please?

Genius quoted me 18th September as well. Dealer said it’s incredibly unlikely and doesn’t want to quote me a delivery timeline until the car is at sea.

Months ago I was told to expect the car in October so that at least still seems likely. I’m at status 160, but not sure how long I have been there for

Do you know when your car was made ? dealer or genius will be able to tell you date that you went 160. So yours must be planned to be on same boat as mine and bluebro - I’ve been 165 since 26th July

I’ll check with them and let you know. I think I was due to start the build on 31st July. I’ve been resisting temptation and hadn’t checked on progress until the last few days. I assumed that would help speed it up

Not to add any disappointment but I'd add at least 3 weeks on to any thing genius say.

I have been at status 160 since 24th July. I’ll be happy with October. Anything sooner will be a bonus

All the shipping documentation was left in the door pocket on my car, which is quite interesting, it went into production the 27th April at 8:40 and finished production at 12:50, it then sat in the SLP holding area until it moved again for deportation on the 3rd July, arriving in the UK on the 24th and collecting it on the 31st. 100% worth the wait though

I've posted this elsewhere so apologies for the duplicate but given it's UK specific, here's a pic from Zunsport this morning as they design the mesh grilles for the G87 front end.

Anyone else gone to status 195 since 16th August? Estimated delivery of 25th September?
I got a VIR check and the boat is Horizon highway.
Route is Davisville-barcelona-southampton.
Does anyone who has already got there car no roughly how long from Southampton to dealer?
Seems like there's light at the end of the very long tunnel!!

Mine arrived into Southampton on Monday and passed customs the same day. It then arrived at the dealer on Friday of the same week and I took delivery the following Tuesday (01/08). So basically it took 1 week & 1 day from Southampton and it being delivered to me.

Pretty much the same, arrived in Southampton on a Monday, delivered Friday and picked up following Monday. Can't believe I've nearly had the G87 a month already. It's a long wait but well worth it.
