no........ sorry but i have better things to do in life then wait in line for a phone nor i have i ever waited in line for something when released i usually just wait a week or two if i have to it.

Dude, you waited that long? Where did you camp out at? I went last night after work to U Village, stood in line for about 30 minutes, was able to pick up 2 32gb phones and leave in under an hour...all with one reservation. Camping out doesn't seem worth it IMO.

sorry to threadjack everyone, but my experience waiting in line posted on another thread:

so i waited in line at the alderwood mall apple store starting at 1:30 am.

camped out, and before the opening they divided the line into 2 parts, one for pre-order, one for not. they drew a line for the walk-ins and called a cut off based on inventory that was well behind me. they guaranteed us all a phone.

so we wait and wait and wait. our line is moving extremely slowly, but its going. meanwhile the pre-order is going very quickly. it is so bad in our line that we are in the same place for over an hour and a half having not moved an inch. they claim they were running a 10x1 ratio, but that was b.s. because we werent moving what so ever. many people including myself were complaining vehemently and frequently, none of the employees wanted anything to do with us and refused to let us speak to their management. they essentially told us to get f*cked and they were doing us a favor by telling us we were guaranteed a phone. now if we were guaranteed a phone, and the pre-order people never paid in advance, what does it matter? it was so bad, that in talking to the people in the pre-order line, they had only been waiting for 2 hours and had already gotten their phone and were done, meanwhile us waiting 12 hours+ still hadn't moved. they eventually claimed they were increasing the ratio of the lines even though that was a lie. i had heard from friends at southcenter and bell square that they were doing a 1x1 ratio and the line was moving and they were out sooner. this was mentioned to the staff, who once again told us to go to hell. it got so bad that one person started video taping the outlandish customer service, and the store manager swatted the phone out of the guys hand and said he was done dealing with us. finally at around 2:30, i got my 32gb phone. a total disaster and miserable deal, apple will be getting many poor service complaints including one from myself.

however, the phone is AMAZING

A few genuine questions.

1. Does America not have a 3G network? In the UK we had video calling from 2003 when 3G was launched. It never took off despite lots of advertising (from David Beckham himself at one point) because the quality off VGA front-facing cameras is poor and it feels stupid holding the phone in front of your face.
I don't get the fuss being made about the launch of Facetime. Unless you don't already have video calling? You'll get over it - its a novelty that wears tedious quickly.

2. The antenna issue. "don't hold it that way" says Jobs. Yet thats the way he was holding it at the launch event, and the way that countless anonymous hands on their publicity hold it. "Really cool engineering" is right - looks great, works badly.

Not available yet in Holland, love to get one but as they are only available through T-mobile I say no thank you. Might look for un unlocked one in Belgium but it wouldn't surprise me if they are really hard to get just as the 3GS.

About the antenna issue, I've also seen user reports that don't have any antenna related issue I'd just wait a wee while, maybe there is an issue and they might do an update? Don't know, I think with a phone this popular it always looks like as if you only see the negative things on the internet, some people seem to make a sport of bashing thins on the internet

To those who bought it at apple store, was your other phone immediately deactivated ie showed no service? My friend didn't even let them open the box and his phone was deactivated despite not plugging into itunes and activating iphone 4, odd because he wanted to sell the iphone4 but now he can't
