Great color choice. I was looking at this color, but wasn't sure how it'd look on the G42. I ended up getting Portimao Blue and I love it. This would've definitely been my second pick. The shadowline package/gloss black fits really well with the Skyscraper Grey. Enjoy!

If your car is on a boat, and you call genius, they will know. My car was very delayed to show "In transit" from mexico and that was only like 3 days.

Newbie here. My car has been stuck in final assembly for 3 weeks today. I called the Genius number and put in my production number for an update. It says "released to a carrier on 11/6 and is awaiting transport to the exit port" Can someone explain this? Is this wait time normal? I thought the "ready for transport" part would take the longest.

I am in the same place. My SA (and genius) both confirmed that my 230 is assembled as of today and is awaiting release to carrier. Once SA gets a bill of lading he will be able to give me a better idea on when it will reach the dealer . He is thinking 3-4 more weeks before it arrives to my dealer in Northern CA.

I looked up my status yesterday on the BMW app and it finally changed to "ready for transport" . Out of curiosity I called the Genius number and it still says "released to a carrier, awaiting transport to the exit port" but the date was updated to 12/3. Any experts out there that can explain why it is still saying the same thing but just the date released changed?

My SA just told me my car was moved from the plant to the port on 12/2 that’s why the status changed for me . Just waiting on a Bill of Lading number then he can tell me the ship it’s on and an ETA on arrival to the port in Oxnard CA.

Depends if your dealer has an allocation.

Did you get the information to get into the mybmw tracking app/site yet?

It took about a month from my date of order (10/25) until it went into production (11/25). My dealer had 1 allocation that he described as “12/1” so I suspect if that 12/1 allocation date was pushed out into January then my production timeline would have been pushed out as well . Since 12/2 my 230 has been waiting at the Mexico port awaiting a ship assignment .

I placed the order 11/19 with the dealership. Then, I got the email from bmwusa on 11/23 that allows me to track my production status. It says that they received my order and are trying to make space in their production schedule. Trying to estimate when it will be put into production. I didn't get an individual color, so i'm hoping that it doesnt take too long. Thank you!

Stay in touch with your CA as see if they can tell you when your vehicle is scheduled for production . Mine was able to tell me my vehicle was planned for production during week of Thanksgiving before the status changed online . You can also try to call the BMW genius (live person not automated) and see if they have updated information for you. They can check using your production number. My CA said to expect 2 month process from order date to delivery which I am tracking pretty close to as he thinks my car will arrive at dealership around 12/31 .

So I see you posted in the M2 forum (g87) and this one. Which car did you order?

The above advice is correct for asking the BMW folks for scheduled production.

For a G42 you can expect production to start soon, for a G87 I doubt it will start quickly.

From day of production start (actually building the car) to delivery on my 2025 M240 was just a few days over 7 weeks...

Once you can get a scheduled production week from the dealer, you will have some idea. It is not likely to be soon, but not sure anyone can say for sure.

Been lurking here for a while now. Thought I'd register and posts. Been waiting on a 240i since October. Been "ready for transport" since 11/2. Emailed my SA today, and he told me that they have a bunch of vehicles at that port that have been sitting there for a while and the dealership is poking around to try to get answers. So to anybody else to whom it feels like it has taken longer than it should have, it appears that it has taken longer than it should have.

I would sure hate to be one of these sales guys with several hundred thousand dollars worth of sold cars they can't get credit for due to this. Especially with the end of year coming up.

First post here as well, I'm in a similar situation as you. Mine has been ready for transport since 11/9 with no updates. BMW Genius has no other information. Please share if you find out anything!

I’m back in a BMW after my brief ownership of a 2022 440i convertible. This time it’s a 230i. Wanted a small lightweight RWD car. The dealer was able to modify a car close to production with the options that I wanted. Scheduled for production.
