I just heard from my dealer that order moved to status 160, I see that means "released to distribution", does that mean it is not yet in transit to Altamira/Veracruz?

It is somewhere between the lot outside the factory and the port in mexico. I dont believe you can tell any more detail than that from the BMW system.

There appears to be 3 K line vessels doing the Veracruz to Europe run through Jan and Feb.

With the Genius chat advising delivery of March 16th its looking likely that it will be loaded onto the Hawaiian Highway which gets into Southampton march 7th and that gives them about a week to transport the car up to the north east of Scotland.

The two earlier vessels arrive Southampton 11th and 16th Feb and are due into Veracruz 23rd (Sirius Highway) and 27th Jan (Hamburg Highway) - so in theory could still be loaded but there's probably a whole batch of other vehicles already scheduled to be on those sailings.

All of this is just guesswork from me though and making the assumption that its shipping with K Line and not one of the other operators.

I'll hound the Genius chat function again and hopefully its moved on from 165 and they can provide a vessel name.

pie unfortunately, I am unable to get any information from Genius, I tried both UK and Germany, they cannot track my order.

I also had a look at the K Line schedule, I was hoping it will be going on the Sirius/Hamburg Highway, but you seem to be ahead of me, so I'm hoping at least for Hawaiian Highway now.

My dealer works kinda weird, as far as I know my CA has access to an Excel file with multiple orders that gets updated by someone else, so I'm not sure if the information that I got from him today (status 160) is even up to date, pretty annoying, but not sure what else I can do.

I put in an order for a 2025 230i xDrive about 10 days ago. I'm still in 111 status and my build week is schedule for Week 7. I can already tell the wait is going to feel excruciatingly long. I'm sure I will be checking the My BMW portal a million times between now and delivery.

In case anyone cares, I went with the base Sport trim (didn't want M Sport) in skyscraper grey over cognac. Checked off most of the options. Hoping I like the color combination in person, as I haven't seen the two colors together in person.

Thanks! I appreciate the reassurance. I was stuck between a black interior and the cognac. Ultimately decided to go with the warmer and more luxurious feel of cognac.

At this point half of me wants the car ASAP, the other half says better if it takes a little longer so I don’t need to buy winter wheels/tires right away and can wait until next season. If I get the car early to mid-March I don’t know if I can get away with summer tires here in Canada.

So just off the Genius chat function.

Still at Status 165 but now updated to vehicle sat at Veracruz POD.

The chat assistant did say he has limited details on shipping but he seems to think its likely going to be on the Hawaiian Highway which aligns with expected delivery date at dealers.

HH is currently somewhere between Bremerhaven and Zeebrugge according to the K Line shipping schedule and doesn't get into Veracruz until Feb 15th so presumably I'll be stuck at Status 165 for the next 3 - 4 weeks until its loaded.

Long waiting game now.

That’s great you’ve been moved up earlier than expected. Given the progress so far, I’ve got to think you’ll get your car earlier than mid-March

It’s strange to me that you’d have been given an allocation for a Week 7 build back in November. I’m no expert but I didn’t think dealers would have even gotten Week 7 allocations at that point. Maybe there was a miscommunication because getting moved up all the way to Week 4 seems unusual. I also have a Week 7 allocation and I’m still in 111 status. I was told it’s possible to get moved up a week but 3 weeks seems like a lot.

Anyway hope the rest of the process goes quickly and smoothly for you!

My timeline is almost identical to yours. The App says it's been in final assembly since yesterday (1/21/25), but Genius says it's been released to the carrier. Either way it'll probably be 3-4 weeks before it arrives in the States.

When you track your order in genius does it show all of your options correctly? My dealership already messed up and there are 2 cars in my name coming. 1st one is similar but wrong options like seats etc. they will just sell that one because I’ve waited too long for this to be wrong. Got another production number and the pic of the car in the tracker shows the wrong wheels but correct in the details so I’m not too stressed about the pic. But it has options I didn’t choose like wireless charging, doesn’t have the illuminated trim or the carbon fiber. I’m gonna lose my shit if this guy did it wrong AGAIN. The build sheet he sent me is correct, so I am praying it’s just a glitch in the tracker? Calling the dealership first thing tomorrow. If it is wrong they better be ready to give me a massive discount for getting this wrong twice

Update-I just downloaded the bmw app on my phone and it doesn’t show the build details but it does show pics of the interior and exterior and everything looks correct. So hopefully it’s just a glitch in bmw genius and everything is actually correct!

I’m nervous about this too. On the online portal I can’t get vehicle details and the wheels are wrong in the pictures. If I try and call Genius it can’t find my vehicle, likely because of my Canadian production number, so I get no updates there either. But like you, the picture gallery in the MyBMW app does look correct.

My build photo above is showing the wrong wheels but when I click on the standard features dropdown on their website it has the right wheels in writing.

The picture also showed the wrong wheels for me when using the website to view my status but all the order specs were correct showing 995m wheels. When using the app all the pictures were correct. Everything ended up perfect for me when I took delivery. I would say if your order sheet from the dealership is correct and the pictures on the app are correct you are good. Congrats on order.

I'm not sure. The salesperson didn't say anything about that. This is my first BMW and I don't have a full understanding of how this process normally goes. If this seems especially quick, perhaps it was an order in the pipeline in a modifiable status.

Placed order: Jan 4
Order received: Jan 5 (received email notification)
In production: Jan 8 (received email notification)
Final Assembly: Jan 21 (received email notification)
Ready for transport: Jan 27 (noticed this in the app today but didn't receive an email)

I see in the app that here are a number of intermediate steps between these but they were all completed at the same time according to the app.

So I called the dealership and the guy thinks everything should be correct. Still a little worried but fingers crossed all goes perfectly! Build date is 2/7 according to him. Genius said week of 2/3-2/7. I guess we will all find out when it finally arrives!!
