Alex@Alpine is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend anyone with a 2023/2024 M2 to get this done.
Don't you want to run a 2024 Torrento Red M2, the guy has a youtube channel called Jvette..... He does his his runs somewhere in mexico but not sure how close/far that is for you

Can you go over the procedure for this. I am considering my 2024 MT car to be done along with the CSL steering and diffy tune for an extra $100.00. Does he just remote tune it on his end with the cable connected to a laptop?

Yeah, it’s all remote. Just need a laptop and cable.

I may be really ignorant here but I still don't understand what is being done (what is being updated and how).

Me either. And if true then that’s cool. But ruining warranty for 20hp? Rather ruin it for 100+ with femto.

That is actually a good point. The good news its only $200 plus the cost of the cable to upload the file.

The issue I see, is how to they make any changes to the ecu if it is locked (not unlocked by femto)?

I know its said it's safe and done many times, and even at just $200, could it be causing a problem? And to be honest, most will not notice a 20hp bump at top end.

I don't think there is a risc of loosing tha warranty. Like the CSL trans tune, it wipes out with the update (you have to turn off the updates). So if you have a problem with the car you can run the last update and turn everything back to stock before going to the dealer. If you are afraid of doing something wrong, don't do it, it's simple.

You can turn off the updates, ask dealer to not perform updates when in for service, but if they do, you just wasted $200 or whatever you spent on these software changes.

At least with something like Bimmercode, I can just go back and reprogram what I had already done. If this "tune" is so simple, I think you should get the file for whatever you paid, so you can reprogram it if an update wiped it out. Just my opinion.

Or they should reprogram it for free "x" amount of times. This is how it worked when I reprogrammed my mercedes to have drift mode and a few other things.

For the CS updates, there's a guy that does $300 first time for all and $50/ea time after. That's more reasonable. Not ideal, but better.

That isn't going to do anything to keep your warranty if you have a engine / powertrain issue. They can see if it has been flashed or whatever we are calling this.

Guys, Locked DME is only locked for tuning with external tools(BM3 or more advanced Autotuner/FLEX/Kess etc). Any DME you can flash with E-Sys (OEM calibration data) and what is done here is simply newer SWFK(LCI OEM software calibration) being flashed with E-sys. It won't throw tuning detection or isn't risky.
This is actually the same as flashing CS/GTS gearbox, just in this case it's a DME flashing with newer calibration data. Simple as that.
We offer it as well - if someone is interested just PM me for that.

I thought the car logged if there were unexpected values over the stock map. Sorry for the lack of better explanation.

Also, why would this newly flashed ECU map get unflashed by OTA updates. Seems it would be safe, no?

If it didn't get unflashed by any OTA updates, then yeah a couple hundred for the new oem tune would be worth it.

If it is treated like a flash after femto unlock, its because it is a change from stock values and the updates will bring the values back to stock.

Safer than FEMTO. Once you flash OEM over FEMTO, you end up with a non starting car(usually), if OEM gets flashed over LCI DME Flash nothing wrong will happen.

I’m planning to have you update my 2024 6MT with this flash along with the CSL items. Have you flashed the DME with the LCI engine software that’s using a piggyback like a Dähler or RaceChip? Any issues using a piggyback with the DME flash?

I flashed it but I recommend to unplug before the flash.
