+1.

ZB and the black wheels are doing absolutely nothing for this car, especially in the lighting that we keep seeing it in. Maybe, just maybe it would improve with natural lighting? In my personal opinion until those black wheels disappear it is a giant negative.
Agree ZB and black wheels with interior lighting is not good for me.

I feel like people are trying to convince themselves 'it's not that bad really'… no, it is. An M car should immediately wow you (and in the right way).

The very fact people have to go through this 'acceptance' stage and let it 'grow on them' shows it's bad.

Sorry, but I haven't seen a BMW design in recent years that's actually turned out well, apart from the M5 and M8. Pains me. I wanted to love the next M2.

Every time Porsche launch a new car I immediately want one. BMW M… I have to justify it/look for the good bits.

Very divisive launch color…I think some of this initial reaction from people is partly because the color just isn’t for them

I can't tell if there is a lot of sarcasm in these replies or not.

This looks like the roles have swapped where once Hyundai, Scion, etc… would copy Audi BMW, Mercedes and now it's just BMW trying to look more and more like the cars coming out of the east.

This thing has 0 bmw in it. Things seem to be getting only worse. The g80 was only the tip of the iceberg.

And I hope this and the XM are at the bottom.

This design is awful. The current M2 competition will be very desirable.

Great point- the split headlights on the x7 and i7 are Hyundai playbook. But… didn't bmw designers flock there recently. Perhaps it was a bmw design that was hijacked?

A lot of this feels hijack'd

"leaked"

I wonder if all the extra "leaks" are to try to recover from the initial negative backlash from the car community and then trying to save face with better looking pictures….

I'm sure it was thoroughly discussed in one of the other threads but a side vent would do wonders in breaking up the panels.

I don't hate it, but this color is not doing it any favors

It somehow has a really plastic look about it in this shot, like it’s been made with a lot of fibreglass and fillers.

Yes the arches are wide which is good, but the overall look of the skirts, and bumpers comes across as really cheap, and there’s no real detail? The sides are completely plain, no fender vents, badging, even flat door handles, it looks odd.

Will wait till I’ve seen it in the flesh in a better colour scheme than this though. Very pale blue and black wheels is not good.

Front bumper looks like a 90s shogun kit and they broke off the lip on a curb and never fixed it. Peak tuner style here

I've owned so many M cars over the years and this was the last one I was hoping to buy. But, BMW really seems to have lost their way with design. Nothing yet leads me to believe this will be a good looking car.

Looks very E90 M3 to me from this angle so I disagree. It’s a bit of a retro design which they have pulled off imo from the angles we can see in the pic. It’s the rear end that I’m concerned with.

This is a proper looking bimmer from that angle but again: fix the headlight signature and layout!

I bet you're right. This picture with BMW background, M flooring, and better angle is damage control for the first leaked images that made the car look awful.

Same thing happened with G80.
