I think your estimate is more accurate to what a fully loaded car will be. I think it will be $80k or more if checking all the boxes.

We weren't really officially teased by BMW until that awful commercial in I believe spring which did nothing but confuse and annoy us.

That's one aspect, yes. Notice the G87 has an extra black surround around the reflector making it much larger and unsightly IMO. Also, not sure how I feel about the diffuser partially cutting into the bumper making it look thinner vertically or how the diffuser ends appear to have abrupt 90° angles into the bumper. Then there's the portion of the bumper that seem to protrude out in a crease which I find very displeasing. I'm talking about the parts of the rear bumper right near the trunk (boot) line where the bumper flares out. They seem to have a boxy outline and from some of the spy pics you can see a line there. Maybe I'll like it in the final product, but my gut tells me I'll be holding out for an LCI update. We shall see...

Agreed, that additional black surround is completely unnecessary, among many other things. I still have hope though since pictures don't always do M cars justice. Hoping the cars presence and stance make up for its flaws.
