No skin in the M2 game whatsoever - reviews seem to sum up like this:

1. Fantastic car, basically a mini G82 M4
2. Much more refined than F87, suspension is a key improvement
3. Less raucous overall
3. Don't sell your F87 if you have one

Very interesting - lots of consensus that this car is more planted, less tail-happy, more stable in general. Those comments seem to mirror what we heard of the G8x vs. F8x. But there it was a positive, here it's a negative..

I hope the reviews continue to be negative so people cancel their reservations and I can get one.

We may have real opinions when we see “normal” people reviewing. It is too soon to take conclusions from this press vids.

One major caveat of the Throttle House review, their test car had like no gas. Supposedly in the G series M cars, power is drastically cut to prevent fuel starvation and damaging the motor.
I can't totally confirm, so if any G80/2 owners want to chime in, that would be helpful. If that really is the case and the auto car they drove was at full power, that will of course vastly change the behavior of the car.

i think people also just have to decide which reviewer is in line with how they drive. thats why i like smoking tire. i want to see how it does at triple digits and hearing the tires howl in the backroads. and how it does just normally in the city.

motoman is a good guy. but i've never seen him push a car hard like matt farrah or chris harris. he just bought a lc500 a year ago or something. that sort of tells you how he likes his cars to be. if you like refinement the g series cars are definitely a step above the f-series.

Were you also referring in CAD? Because 108K CAD is about 80K USD which I believe with similarly optioned G87 minus the carbon bucket seat is quite similar.

The brand went totally mainstream 15 years ago or more and hasn’t cared about anything other than selling badges while riding on the coattails of their original story ever since. Let me clue you in, these aren’t BMWs. They are consumer goods for the masses. Overpriced, heavy, plastic coated garbage.

Was your M2CS new? Also - a G87 M2 can be had for $64K USD and it offers the same performance as variants with the carbon package. You’re not really making a winning argument here.

Yeah, I give more weight to this review because that guy owns an M2.

Throttle House is about fun, and these two seemed hungover and irritated the whole time. It was like watching an old married couple in a bad way.
It's in the review. Not M-DCT, 100kg heavier, drives too similar to the outgoing M4. I also agree with him that BMW did a better job differentiating the two models in F8x generation.

Just to clarify, the gas tank was full when we received the car and over half a tank when I show that moment. The shot of the cluster being at a quarter tank was taken at the very end of the day. (B roll has to happen at a different time or you'll see cameras all over the cabin).

However, I will mention the fact that the clip syncs perfectly with my in-car impression of flooring it at 30mph suggests that power delivery in the vehicle is absolutely identical whether its at 75% fuelled (when you see me do it) or 25% (the shot of the cluster).

Also, do we really think an M car cuts power at a quarter tank? I find that hard to believe.

About what we’ll expected minus the Throttle House review.

I also thought the Straight Pipes video was the best of the bunch.

Now we wait for Doug and Matt.
