I like sampling cars for a year or two and then move on to something else. Why anyone would only stick with one brand is unusual to me.

Sometimes I think about getting an SQ5 and murdering it but I haven't owned an SUV for 10 years and I'm not ready to go back yet.

Luckily, the wife drives multiple Lexus' so I've driven enough of those that I never need to sample one again. haha
Slightly off topic but have been hearing that the next gen Sti will have hybrid power in addition to turbos, plus a dual clutch. That would be pretty awesome...

Mustang GT350

Aren't those the only non-M2 choices if you want to stick with a 2 door, RWD, MT coupe that exceeds the M235i performance at roughly the same price?

The only problem is that I'm so in love with the 2er's size now that I don't know if I could go back to a big car like listed above.

No one else makes a RWD hatch with a proper engine. So I'd struggle.

It will probably perform very well with that configuration.

One of the reasons I ordered it though is because it only comes in manual. That increases the fun factor for me.

Audi or Porsche. Maybe even Acura/Lexus since they make some decently priced & long-lasting sedans..

Point is, could the body handle the suspension upgrades? Or would you have to spend a ton reinforcing both the body and frame?

I had no idea people figured out how to get these beasts to turn.

Either way, they're getting expensive.
Yes, people have figured out how to stiffen the frame and it's not alot of work actually, when you take the body off lol. Uhm the body can be stiffened in a few spots (right behind the rear seats [gnx rear seat brace] and bars that stiffen under the hood. The stress cracks in the body are due to the frame flexing. You can pick up one corner of the frame off the ground 6 inches before the adjacent corner begins to lift.

I'm sticking to the good and true v6 turbo. Company came out with an all aluminum block with all the stage 2 designs with improved oiling and strengthening. The all aluminum v6 can handle upwards of 2000hp on kill.

Sounds like a labor of love to stiffen it up. Body off frame work. But 2000hp is just ludicrous.

I remember watching GNs tearing up dynos back in the day with 1000hp.

I have zero brand loyalty. I evaluate all options that meet the need of the vehicle I'm looking for at the time.

Was the F10 a Comp Pack? The non Comp Pack didn't do the M5 justice

......

Hmm.. Porsche or AMG something... but I won't like I would consider XF/XE R( When those come out), ATSV/CTSV, Vette, Camaro, GT350 and for kicks a F150 Raptor, Charger SRT8 (Non Hellcat)

Back to Subaru for a newer wrx/sti. But probably won't happen and will upgrade to a newer bmw, gotten pretty spoiled with the 335i and don't want to downgrade.

I refuse to buy new cars, so my next will probably be a 2nd Gen CTS-V Coupe 6MT. Probably won't be a while, as I'm shopping to replace my truck right now.

my trajectory after bmw:
porscha (2014 Cayman S)
then Chevrolet (2015 c7 zf1)
then quickly back to porscha (2016 Cayman S)
I might go back to BMW with the Z5 coupe, if they build it, I might come

I have a weekend BMW but my daily is a Cadillac ATS. Actual purchase price was significantly cheaper, I really liked the driving dynamics (RWD with LSD, Magnetic ride, Brembos, forged/staggered wheels, etc.), plan on keeping it until 150k miles and thought long term costs are likely much lower than BMW. Two years in still very happy with my decision.

I like BMW's but am not so attached that they don't get compared to the others.
How to you like the two cupholders in the front? Or the CUE?
