Care to send a DM with that price shipped to 98019? I'm hoping to just open up the exhaust a bit, I think a mid-pipe just might do the trick.

A single will do it just a bit. The equal length will be more aggressive in case interested

Depends on your definition of open up a bit. A midpipe is a massive difference in sound, I’m really happy with mine

Much more so with the EL imo. The single helps too, but I find those to be much more tame and closer to oem+ with the EL being more aggressive.

This is a very dumb question to ask, but what is the difference between installing a midpipe vs deleting 2 resonators?

Elegance and simplicity. Much easier to return the car to stock buying a secondary system. If you don't care about that, by all means find a good muffler shop and go to town on the factory pipes.

Yep. Weather permitting, will try to post videos once I have the AA single midpipe installed on my car. I'll also log the volume of the exhaust before and after using Decibel X on my phone. I plan to keep the stock muffler and downpipes. Should hopefully help other folks shopping around.

Awesome. Doing a before and after dyno at the shop installing my AA EL mid and will vid as well. More for the sound delta than the actual whp since it would likely just be in the standard deviation range between runs.

Jumped on an AA EL midpipe from mike@x-ph.com also! Like you all, I’m hoping it wakes the car up a bit and I can hold off on the axle back portion for awhile or until more options are on the market.

Awesome. My hope is it'll be aggressive enough to still keep oem down pipe and axle back... we shall see lol.

I had the Active Autowerks Single Midpipe (non-resonated) installed today. I have to say it’s a game changer with the stock muffler and stock downpipes. The car feels and sounds like an M car should. In Sport Plus, the sound is deeper, louder, and has more grunt. In Comfort mode, it feels like stock. No weird resonance or drone. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a signature OEM+ sound. The fitment and install was flawless. Shop had it done in less than an hour and a half and spoke very highly of the quality of the midpipe compared to others he’s installed in the past. Special thanks again to mike@x-ph.com for the hookup.

Sounds great!

Does it come with the brace? I am really stuck between the AA Single and the Valvetronic Single.

Wish I could hear them side by side

It did come with the brace, and the fitment on it was excellent. I didn’t get a chance to hear anything else in person before making the purchase, let alone side by side. I just knew I didn’t want a loud, obnoxious, raspy car - like other G8x cars I’ve seen online with downpipes, muffler deletes, etc.

The AA Single exceeded my expectations in that regard, and I have to say the volume was pleasantly louder than expected. My two other friends who’ve heard the car thus far have absolutely loved the improvement over the factory sound.

Sounds great. Agreed on giving mike@x-ph.com props. Super quick service and great prices. My EL mid from AA doesn't go on til next Wednesday unfortunately, day after my break in service.
