BG is probably similar to chalk in that the car needs a lot of black contrasting bits and tinted windows to look good.

Disagree as I do not care for it no matter how one attempts to Band-Aid it. Porsche’s Chalk is great and is a uni paint, non-metallic versus BG being a full-fledged metallic paint.

For me, its the least of all evils. I definitely do not like red or white, the BSM was not to my liking (I have had too many black cars and BSM didn't even look like a true black when I saw it Saturday) and Inhad ZB as my choice but with all the pictures and "in person reports" I was afraid it would not be what I had expected or hoped it would be.

Plus, the rim colors that would match the ZB are limited (dont want your usual black, gray or silver rims if I can avoidit)..

Thats why the Vossens I will be getting will make it pop along with any added cf (spoiler, mirrors and maybe diffuser). Tint is a given.

Cognac with ZB would be a brave choice. It’s a combo I’d need to see before committing but kudos to you for being a trailblazer.

I would order the seats that are exclusive to the G87, M Highlight via the standard seats or the buckets. Cognac and black with the blue stitching are both available on the G42 M240i.

Garage List
2004 BMW Z4  [0.00]
Color: Alpine White (thought about TR but looked too toyish IRL)

Bi-colored wheels: not a fan of black wheels.

6MT: partly because there's no DCT option. I will sht on BMW for removing this every chance I get.

Carbon Package: Only way to get the bucket seats.

Lighting Package: I like them bright.

Heated Steering Wheel: I like my hands warm.

Just a friendly fyi, but the lighting package does not change the physical headlight nor the output. What does change is the DRL and adds automatic high beam.

This convinces me even more that base HL are perfect for me. The only thing I would like to have is the full line DRL. I don't care for adaptive and auto high beam. Heck, I don't even use the auto headlights in my E90. Full manual.

I thought the lighting package gets you full LEDs vs HIDs (like the similar option package with the M240)?

They are LED either way. You gain Adaptive LED as well as the aforementioned Automatic High Beams.

The regular headlights are just fine. IMO the package is bragging rights on your build only as the std spec is perfectly fine. To me they just add unnecessary complexity (I mean auto high beams? Really?).

Having said all that I just purchased a unit with them on it haha.

It also changes the DRL for the better design.

In this case it appears it doesn't matter but in general, LED headlights are far superior to HIDs

I am not certain as to why it matters given that this is the G87 subform? It is the same on the M240. LED headlights are standard. The Adaptive Full LED Headlights are not available as a standalone option or in a lighting package. They are only available via the premium package.

I agree. But for $650 and never actually looking at your own headlights, it could be questionable for some.

In Canada is $3,100 CAD (packaged). You need to get the Premium Package (ZPP) for them.

In my honest opinion, $650 for the automatic high beams is worth every penny. Reality what is an additional $650 when one is spending anywhere from $62,300+?
