Map 2 on 93 worked best for me.. 11.6@118 with very little timing being pulled. I would still data log it as every car and location is different. Elevation and weather changes everything

It picked up 3 tenths with E30,but I can’t get it to hook. On the top end it gained 5mph. Felt like a whole different car in 3rd and 4th gear

You continue to impress me with your knowledge of this stuff. I hope to see you at that racing event out east so I can pick your brain. Top of the Line is going to be installing my JB4 in a couple of weeks when the car goes under the knife and it's my first time messing with one of these.

If im daily driving my car, I don't necessarily want to be forced to go out of my way all the time to mix ethanol since there aren't a ton of gas stations around here that sell it.
I’ve been running map 4 for a while on E30 and it has performed great. On a recent 3,500 mile road trip I ran map 1 with 93 the whole time, and again no issues. I’m now running map 2 on E30 just to try it out.

I like a little safety blanket and tend to run a map one step lower than recommended for my fuel. With map 4 having an E30 recommendation it makes me believe it’s more aggressive than map 2. And with map 2 including 93 in its recommendation I would likely not run it if I only had 91, even though 91 is mentioned in map 2.

Bottom line is there’s not a night and day difference between the maps that I’ve noticed, and if I had it to do over again I may have just stuck with the JB+ as it performed GREAT for the price.

This is great feedback. I read some of your other comments and I think JB+ is the no brainer for my (future) situation. Then maybe down the road I can look into more aggressive tunes.

Thanks brother! I might be going to the event,it’s still up in the air. Either way shoot me a message if you have any questions after top of the line finishes the install. It’s fairly easy to navigate. The car will be much different when you pick it up

Great info, what level did you have the JB+ set at? I’m in the UK and plan to run the JB+ with the dial set at 1pm so prob + 3 PSI running 99 Ron fuel which I believe is equal to 93 in the US.

Would you say the above is safe enough?

I never moved the JB+ from the default position. I would try that first and see if you're happy. If you have 93 (U.S.) then turning it up a little should be fine, but I've read where some people didn't think it ran as smooth...but I have no idea what other conditions may have been present.

I believe the stock position for the JB+ is 3pm which is circa 4psi.

I’m looking to reduce boost to the 1pm position 3ish PSI. So with 93 fuel it should be safe enough?

I believe Burger Tuning declares the JB+ safe in default position with 91, so no doubt it should be safe turned down with higher octane.

I'm still trying to figure which is the safer option on 91 between map 1 vs map 4.

On one hand it would seem to be map 4 as it limits the turbo to 20 psi, which is about the max you'll see from the factory. However, it may try to target 20 psi when the ECU is only requesting 12 psi, which is a significant jump.

On the other hand, map 1 is a fairly modest 3 psi increase and is the suggested map for running 91. However, you can see max boost of 23 psi, which seems pretty high for 91.

I'm currently running map 2 with E30 (E85 & 93) and it punches like a pissed-off Mike Tyson! However, I seldom go WOT, so hopefully my turbo and trans will last a long while.

The only negatives I've found with my setup is the throttle will rapidly close if I forget to turn TC off (short press), even with a 265 square setup, and I think I'm getting a little too much torque reduction from the xHP Flashtool on upshifts when WOT in lower gears. But if this helps prolong the transmission, and I seldom go WOT, then I guess it's ok. I've noticed if actually doing a Launch Control that xHP knows what I'm doing and doesn't interfere with the Torque Reduction setting, so a 0-60...70...80 run is almost nauseating.

late to the party here- Does below statement mean I can run just 93 with map4?

Map4: Absolute target map with peak target of 20psi (93+ and/or 30% E85, EWG connector suggested)

The “+” after the 93 means it should be better than 93 alone. The “and” 30% e85 is the qualifier, thus making it e30.

My recommendation for 93 alone is Map 1. I like a little safety buffer. I’m running Map 2 with e30. When I can find only 91 or 93 I switch to Map 1 and sometimes Map 0.

Thank you! I may settle for jb+ in this case as I don’t want to mix fuels.

I was very happy with JB+, but I do like the features the JB4 offers: app, gauges, waste gate control, and whatever the other sensors/protection the JB4 offers with its extra connectors and computer.

the Jb+ will get the job done in terms of adding power but the Jb4 is always the better option.

You'll make more power, with a better delivery and lots of features that are there in case you want to use them in the future.

I never looked at used, but my son has a used on on his ‘23 Supra and loves it. I believe he also had a used one on a different make and obviously loved it enough to put one on his Supra.

Stay out of Map 3.

You lose your warranty if you get a used one, plus the risks of installing a water-damaged unit that might cause a short circuit to your dme.

Let me know when you are ready to get one and i'll see what i can do

So I have a 2023 M240i Xdrive with AA Catted downpipe, MST Cold air & JB4 with EWG hooked up. I ve been running Map 3 with 93 Octane and my question is how accurate is the Boost Gauge from the JB4 app. There have been multiple times I hit 30+ lbs of Boost, is the accurate?
