Ah, ok. At some point you should go to status 150 which means you have been issued a production date and an actual VIN. Your CA or BMW Genius should be able to tell you what build week your allocation is for. (Mine was week 25) As you get closer to your build week they will schedule you for an actual day during that week.

Could the car be in Germany? How long does it take to cross the Atlantic?!

I believe status 165 means it has not yet been assigned a boat. It’s sitting in a warehouse in Mexico.

Well, this is crazy. My M2 suddenly went from "Ready for transport" to "In transit".... meaning "awaiting carrier assignment", "dispatched from the factory", and "at the port" were skipped entirely. Funnily enough, I updated my port installed options just yesterday!

I'm guessing that when it updates it'll be way further along than what they've actually reported. To be honest though, I would be kind of surprised if my M2 actually skipped all those phases. This would mean that they installed the MP HAS and carbon inlets in less than 24 hours after I updated my order mid-day. Truly seems unlikely.

Almost certainly, East coast. Port of entry for me would be in Galveston TX, for a final delivery in Dallas.

Another update. I called the BMW Genius to see what's going on and they said the website was probably wrong. His data seemed to indicate that the car was recently assigned a boat and nothing more.

The port installed options are installed stateside from what I’ve read. So once yours reaches the VPC in TX those parts will get installed.

Got an update from my CA. Car is on the RCC Amsterdam.

The current position of RCC AMSTERDAM is at Gulf of Mexico reported 38 hours ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to the port of Brunswick, United States (USA), sailing at a speed of 18.1 knots and expected to arrive there on Jul 10, 17:00. The vessel RCC AMSTERDAM (IMO 9660798, MMSI 311000103) is a Vehicles Carrier built in 2013 (11 years old) and currently sailing under the flag of Bahamas.

Now that I am in status 150, I see that "Production Date" is listed as 2024-07-23. Does that typically mean the start of production or the anticipated finished date?
