Yours is about a half inch bigger than mine. Please confirm measurements tonight. My wife will be pleased.
I enjoy a good sexual reference once in a while. |

That's probably enough for me to not get it. Sounds like more of a place to hold the phone than charge it. If it's that slim I probably won't like busting my knuckles getting it in and out.

As long as there is nothing in the cup holders, getting the phone in and out is not an issue. Will take pictures tonight. |

I'm certain that wireless charging is something that manufacturers add only because other car manufacturers do it and they can't be the ones who have left it out. Wireless charging just isn't that great. My phone heats up excessively when I use the wireless charger on my desk and it's super slow. I end up plugging it in most of the time anyway. My only fear of passing it up is if it ends up deleting digital key. I don't think it will, but that has been the case a few times in the past.

Does anyone know if the manual will have the wireless charging in the armrest like the manual g80? I’m not sure if that works any better than the pad in front of the cup holders or fits more phone types.

Having sat in a manual G87, I can confirm that it is in the same location as a G42. |

If it's anything like the "wireless charger" in my F87, you can get the added benefit of something really hot in your hands when you take it off of the charger on those cold days walking from your car to the mall.
The days of "ohh my hands are freezing" when you make that long trek to Nordstrom are finally over! I say go for it!

I have the wireless charger. Used it for part of a 1700 mile drive last week. It’s nothing to write home about. It barely overcomes the consumption of having CarPlay and route guidance and music running.
Sure the phone was a little warm when I took it out. Can’t say I care. If you need a meaningful charge in short order, it’s going to disappoint. The location sucks. Even with ID8 and no shifter in the way, and with no cups in the holder. It’s still quite shrouded, and inconvenient especially if you plan to pick up your phone often for texting or something. All that said… it’s $200. I’d probably do it again because I’ll never notice the difference $200 makes over a ~65K OTD purchase. Might use it one day or passenger might need a charge while I’m on the cable. |
