The frozen colours suit the G87 so well, really highlighting how muscular and wide the body is.

Seems the frozen is slightly satin, with a subtle sheen. The matt wraps are quite flat. I kinda prefer the frozen, but TBH I had too many crap cars in my youth that were either primer or just had bad paint to warm to anything but gloss. Just my opinion. Matt or satin finishes do catch my eye in the wild though.

I just picked up a frozen pure grey. Absolutely love it! I know it’s a pain but couldn’t help it. Still researching PPF but know it’s a must.

I fully agree. Feel free to post lots more photos soon. And yes, proper PPF is a great first step to protecting that expensive paint option.

Is it possible to record a video? Be interesting to see how light affects it? Or even some night time pictures would be good! 😊 |

Looking good! Congrats! Such an awesome color I know a great place in the SoCal (OC area) that does an awesome job with PPF’s and wraps altogether if you’re considering to get it done. It’ll help with the upkeep and maintenance of your individual frozen paint. He’s done all my cars and my friends too, so I may be able to get you a hookup. I also recently had my G20 PPF’d in STEK Dynomatte to give it that frozen look. Feel feee to DM me for details.

I often wonder why auto makers don't offer a PPF option from the factory. Apply it right after the parts are painted. Figure out a way for robots to do it to minimize cost and maximize consistency. Should be better and cheaper than how it's done after the car is built and there is clearly a healthy market for it. Seems like a missed OEM profit opportunity. I'm getting frozen portimao (currently in production lets goo) and it's nice to have options with the PPF, might only do front clip or even just front bumper and then Dr Beasley's ceramic coat the rest. With gloss you're in for the whole car which can cost 10-15% of the car's value depending on where you live. |
