Maybe they haven't complained about performance but guess you missed all the posts on the G80 forum of people complaining that you cannot easily change out the pads for track use like you could on the F8x, you need to remove the rear caliper. You also need to retract the electric parking brake motor. Total PIA.

Admittedly I was laying on the floor of a dealership with a phone light so I'm sure there's plenty of nuances I missed but any fears I had that the M2 featured G42 components instead of G80/82 (when I discovered the G87 uses cast wheels, for example I was a little worried) - were alleviated. |

Not sure if this is a typo but the G87 uses cast wheels. "(when I discovered the G87 uses forged wheels, for example I was a little worried)" |

An M4-Lite with shorter wheelbase for a little more "fun" driving characteristic and 6-speed manual.

On the topic of bracing, I'm trying to decide I bother fitting the CSL Strut brace on the G87 or leave it as is. Ive heard so many mixed reviews, everything from it isntantly improves front end feel to it's completely unoticable to it adds too much torsional rigidity and compromised the ride (the latter seems highly unlikely). I can only assume on track it would be noticed, average street driving not so much.

Man, do I remember the arguments owners had back in the day when the E39 M5 was new. Dinan strut brace vs no strut brace. Those that purchased it swore up and down that it made a difference and those that refused to purchase it always stipulated that it did not make a damn bit of difference given the vehicle’s torsional rigidity. “Engine Compartment Jewelry.”

I'm not sure if the CSL brace will directly fit the G87 because the outside most strut nuts are covered by the plastic shroud.. is the shroud covering attachments to additional stiffening plates? I assume you might need to at least have to trim the plastic to fit over the CSL brace.
Either way it would be a shame to cover up part of that brace Ive zoomed in on the suspect areas (albeit opposite sides of the engine bay - drive and pass side are identical) |

I wonder if the G82 plastic seal piece would fit the G87? A lot in common between these cars.
