It's nice looking - goes all of the way across the bumper & follows the contours very nicely, but what's the point if you can't figure out how to install the damned thing & then, reattach the bumper properly & securely?
Appreciate the business, just saw the order come through. Your new Lightweight Lip will be shipping bright and early tomorrow!

I figured out how to install the maxton splitter! I canceled my order. Feels better to not lose the $270 & get the maxton installed. I will post pics on my own mod thread, not here since this is EAS' thread.

Any information as to whether one will be made for the G42?

Nothing yet, but we’ll create a new G42 specific thread once announced.

Now I have the Lightweight front lip (got it from you guys) that I had painted gloss black and I'm way happier with it. Bolted right up using stock mounting points and hardware. Super sturdy lip, too. Really glad I went this route. YMMV.
Can you post a pic of it perhaps? I wouldn’t mind getting mine painted gloss. How much was that if I may ask?

Sure, here you go. So part of the reason I ended up painting it gloss black was because my buddy is a GM of a body shop and painted it on-the-house. If I had to guess, I'd imagine it would be anywhere from $250-$300 range to paint it.

Wow, that looks great! I may have to do the same for mine on my G87. I do like the matte finish, but that gloss looks incredible against the OEM front gloss pieces.

Thanks! Yea with having a gloss black CSL grill and the gloss black oem front trim pieces, it matches a lot better; so I'm happy I did it.

Hey Tom, I have a great idea. Let’s save some money by bundling the Mikimoto and the Lightweight.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to Robert from EAS for setting me up with a more favorable shipping fee. Got my order in for the Lightweight lip and Mishimoto Skid Plate.

Glad we were able to help. The checkout isn't always exact on international, but we'll help if there wiggle room there.

Looks like i'm gonna have to get in touch on this too.

Anyone with an EU G87 tried this install? i thought i saw a video that the european front lip spoiler has to be removed/modified for this.

Yes, you need to cut the rubbery part of the spoiler of to make it fit.
I have only testfitted so far but looks like it fits with spacers. Lightweight missed shipping the small angled spacers so waiting to hear back from Lightweight.

Leightweight said they would ship spacers but stopped answering.

Been almost 2 months since payment, probably the shittiest experience buying stuff from "serious" brands so far.

Would say do not buy the splitter.

They send cheap screws for wood instead of the nice ones on the advert, missing the needed spacers and don't respond or remediate the problem.

Sorry to hear this, the Lightweight splitters are very high quality - it sounds more of a customer service issue with Lightweight. This would not be your experience if ordering from us directly.

I'm based in EU and for tax/toll reasons it's better to buy directly in EU.
Still you would have to solve spacers for the customer, maybe faster if you can make Lightweight send you some spare spacers.

You can't compare the two unless you've seen both in person. In all fairness, the Maxton really isn't even a valid comparison as it's a completely different design, and as they use a very soft/flexible compound, not very durable at all. It's almost a rubber texture that you can actually dig a fingernail into. Hold the lip on it's edge and it'll bend over and touch the ground, the material used is very pliable. But they're cheap and that's what makes them attractive.

In the end, you get what you pay for. We've even uninstalled a couple of Maxtons that ended up melting in during Summer heat and eventually upgraded to Lightweight lips.

We have a hardware kit for those running Mishimoto guards, can’t guarantee the AliExpress stuff.

did the mishimoto plate require different hardware by itself?
