This might be the most intersting change for current M2 owners.

Poached from the other post regarding 2 series LCI…”Zandvoort Blue, previously exclusive to the M2, is now available for the BMW M240i.”

This seems like a bit of a wildcard to me. Isn’t Zandvoort the launch color, the exclusive color to the M2, the primary color that dealers got their first allocation of M2’s in? Pushing Zandvoort as a straight option, not even individual order by my read, seems to cheapen the relevance and could be a miss on BMW’s part.

Exclusivity is an element a lot of owners enjoy about their BMW’s. Launch colors can have some significance historically. This seems to fly directly in the face of that value, but I guess seals Zandvoort as a 2 series color.

SO glad I waited and gave up the 2024 allocation.nthe wait is going to feel like an eternity though.

This is interesting:

“To support the driver in getting the most out of the newfound power, advances have been made with the accelerator mapping and response in all the drive modes selectable via the M Setup menu. As a result, the new BMW M2 offers noticeably more rapid reactions to the driver’s requests for acceleration – both when specified with either the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission or the 6-speed manual gearbox.”

Gear ratios remain unchanged.

Doesn’t the fact that they’re launching the LCI this early in the car’s lifecycle suggest there will be a Competition model down the line? Otherwise I would’ve expected the LCI launch to come at a later stage.

The only thing keeping me from purchasing a g87 is that I cannot get comfortable with the display. Entirely too much screen for me.

On my test drives, I’ve found I don’t pay a whole lot of attention to the screen while driving. Meaning, I don’t mind it. Already was used to it all after my second or 3rd test drive.

It’s disappointing when expectations aren’t met, especially when it’s comes to specific areas like the design and it’s interesting to see how the design element are evolving across different models. If you’re looking forward to xDrive and/or competition for MY25, you might want to catch up on the latest updates. It’s seems like they might stick with the current design for a bit longer, possibly saving changes for the upcoming comp models in 2026 but it’s always good to manage expectations.

Oh boy, new colors and bucket seats a la carte... they fixed my two complaints about this car. The new wheel and badging and really nice touches as well.

Its 5k extra on the G80 in Canada so expect a low take rate on the "cheaper" M2.

The colours in this edit is just the Grigio Telesto car rotoscoped in After Effects and colourized. If you google the colour names you'll see Java Green and Voodoo Blue are really different to how they are depicted here.
