I’m only using it when things are pretty labor-intensive like doing my taxes, or I need to print something.

Use my desktop 99.99% of the time. I seriously only bought the laptop (used from eBay ~$150) to code the brakes on my 440i. Now I use it when I need to print something cause the printer is across the house. My sister was using it the most during lockdown.

No way I could use that tiny screen for daily use. Too used to my 3 27" 1440p monitors. I had to get used to using this 13" Macbook Pro all day at work. Multi tasking is such a pain.

Do you use Mission Control (Spaces) for multiple desktops on the Mac? I've got 8 desktops open right now, and can three-finger swipe left/right between them almost as fast as I could turn my head to look at another monitor.....

I do. My monitors at home are bigger than 4 of these combined so I likely wouldn't have them on different monitors if I had to copy paste numbers from different spreadsheets/pages/VMs like I do at work.

And I'm not even going to talk about the longevity of these mobile desktop wanna be's. You can't get around the killer of all electronics which is heat.
Well I just lug it around the house..... I use a laptop tilted pad that has a built in fan that blows through the bottom along with fans in the machine that if needed will wind up like an old P51 in the bottom that plugs into one of the USB ports. Keeps my lap from cooking.

Right now the CPU fan is at 130F and the system fan is at 122F it has been running all day. Also the fan in the bottom of the pad or holder that is actually very comfortable and has a nice angle that is adjustable. Just a few years ago this stuff did not exist....... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G2RL026/ref=emc_b_5_t

You Could Not Pay Me To Lug This Beast Around Airports! Company machines were always light weight smaller with screens.

I have both and with most things going to the cloud i think im gonna get rid of my laptop and switch to an iPad Pro. easier to lug around and for power I have the desktop.

I upgrade one or the other each year so I have an RTX2080 laptop and a GTX1080 pc. This year (eventually) the desktop will get an upgrade to an RTX3080 and I might just pickup an IPad Pro also w/ COVID i move around a lot and lugging a 17" Laptop isn't ideal.

I used to build my own desktops back in the day. Now I have an older Dell 24" all in one pc. It works great. I am not a gamer except for a real flight simulator. I also have a 5 year old 2-1 laptop that is pretty much only used to install bootmod3. I also have an ipad mini.

Like others, I run multiple computers to match certain workloads. I use a KVM switcher to switch connection from my monitors, keyboard, mouse, and webcam from my desktop to whichever laptop is plugged into a USB-C dock. I'm a bit addicted to PC hardware so probably went a bit overkill with my WFH office..

The best part about my setup is I can mix monitor sources from my work issued laptop and my desktop, so I can stream YouTube and such while working without worrying about getting fussed at for pulling too much bandwidth through the VPN. Or use all from one source if I'm actually focused.

Excluding the work issued Dell, my laptop is a 16" MacBook Pro and desktop is a custom build (5900X, 3080, custom loop).

I use a desktop in my office (self employed), but mainly for administration (and it's a very small passively cooled unit with a notebook processor inside).

For the rest I use a 17" laptop and a 13" laptop.

(and some old laptops in the garage for car diagnose/BMW TIS/INPA/ISTA etc)

My desktop became my main 24/7 server; I use laptop for 100% of my common tasks, then if I need raw power I use a VM on my server.

1 gaming rig (desktop), 1 "general use" desktop, 1 Chromebook (only used for trading/kwad tuning), and in the market for a notebook for tuning the cars. So yes, to all your questions.

I'm a web developer and I tend to prefer having a desktop than a laptop to work with. I have a zenbook pro but i just bought a new desktop. I prefer that to buying a docking station

I have a gaming desktop (slightly outdated), a new gaming laptop, a work desktop, 3 ipads that act as laptops for the kiddos, 3 fire tablets for car entertainment, wife's laptop, and a surface pro for emergencies.

If somebody force me to quit gaming, probably best way would be to forbid me using my desktop pc
After 27" monitor I could not imagine gaming on smaller screens
