Congrats! 21k off MSRP is AMAZING! Are they really wanting to get rid of them that badly?

Nah, Nismo's going to be quite rare.

Our situation sucks though, since we don't have a transport company and the trucking brokerage firms have already taken $500 commissions yet we don't have a truck. The first one canceled on us and the second one won't bring us the car until October. So we've lost $500 and have no way of transporting the car. The car's been 100% paid for already so I'm sure it's sitting outside in the lot now, collecting dust.

My dad and I agreed on that too, but it's only RWD and he needs AWD. He's a physician so even if there's a blizzard and six feet of snow he needs to go to work.

Worth mentioning the 911s weight balance. With so much of the weight on the driven wheels, they're actually pretty capable in the snow. I've seen countless rwd 911s when skiing.

Not that you really care, your dad's clearly not lacking in sufficient cold weather vehicles now.

Yeah, the 911 on paper sound like it'd be amazing on the snow. But clearance looks like its biggest issue.

Both awesome cars. Only if Porsche can make it look better. Two of the best in that segment. The CLS is the benchmark though

It has arrived.... And it's a beast! From handling and acceleration, this thing cannot be beat. My M3 feels so archaic after driving the GTR, and following break-in protocol, I didn't even go above 3k RPM!

I've gotta say, this car is everything I expected and any fears I had about it are non-existent. Yes, it's lightning quick even though it's still in its break-in period so rpm stays below 3500. It's gorgeous. The interior is super nice, IMO, and more interesting than my M3 by far. It's also surprising comfortable and quiet. Sometimes I hear the infamous transmission clunks at low speeds, but it's pretty silent. Road/tire noise is also not an issue with the OEM summer tires it's on. The car we test drove had all-seasons and it had horribly loud tire noise.
The attention it gets is always interesting too, but it's all been positive so far. Overall it's a 10/10, and will only get better after the break-in periods over. My only quip is that there are no memory seats but that's it.

Neighbor has the Panamera and it is quite sweet. Initially I thought they were kinda 'off looking' but once you sit in and drive... Whole other level of Sports Sedan. The Audi A7 looks ridiculous out back. 2013+ CLS is very nice indeed especially with AMG treatment. If it were my $$$ I'd go Panamera GTS

I just saw this thread before I posted mine or I would have added it here....

been shopping the Panamera GTS vs. Cayenne GTS in the pre-owned market and it seems the Pana is holding about $20k more in resale value than the SUV cousin, why?

Both cars are around $120k new but it seems the used Cayenne's with similar miles are around $60k while the Pana is in the high $80's still. I'm thinking it might be due to the PDK tranny in the Panamera?

I'm in the minority but I love the menacing look of the Panamera. I test drove the M5 as a comparison and it's really a night and day difference. I don't know how Porsche engineers do it but when driving the Panamera, you FORGOT it has two rear doors and a massive hatch area. The car just feels like a sports car. The M5 has no soul.

Never even compared to the CLS, not my type of car. The RS7 is too expensive since those are too new and command $120k even used right now.

P.S. I have a R8 v10 and if only that car had two more rear seats it would be a PERFECT car, seriously. (I'm a dad with 2 toddlers so I must have rear seat space in my DD hence looking at the two P-cars to replace my s4)

My dad considered the V10 R8 but my mom didn't want the stick, and the R-tronic sucks. So he went with the GTR for that reason. He drove a Panamera a few years ago but went with his CLS63, but it was a horrible Panamera 4. He probably would've bought a GTS if Nissan hadn't had the incentives.

btw, this is the Pana GTS on my dealer's lot a while back, I loved the upgraded Mansory wheels, it was lightly optioned so just around $117k:

We drove it and I fell in love but unfortunately I wasn't ready to pull the trigger and car sold a few weeks later

This car still sticks out in my mind as the BEST 4-door super sedan. It does everything well for a guy who needs 4 true seats all the time! I'm not sure why people are talking about the GTR here since that is a 2-door sports car in my book. If you are shopping the GTR then why even look at these 4-door sedans???

My dad wanted an AWD sports car. Whether it had two of four seats wasn't that big a priority on his list, but the GTR has four and is AWD. I personally believe the GTR is the best DD out there. Whenever I drive it, it has been comfortable and quiet. I was worried the ride would be harsh and the interior noise overwhelming. Nope. My E90 M3 with an Akrapovic slip on exhaust is a harsher driving and soundings car. The GTR is extremely comfortable and quiet.

I moved from an E92 335i to a Panamera 4S several years ago and really enjoyed the change! Be advised the car is larger than it looks. When I first attempted to park the Panamera in my garage it would not fit. It looks like it is the size of a 5-series but I think it is actually closer in size to a 7-series. Nevertheless, when going around corners (hydraulic steering) it feels a lot smaller and nimble. When I drive there is not a single rattle in the interior. It has been very reliable too (I have almost 40K miles and going). PDK is wonderful.

If shopping for a Panamera, definitely research what options you must have first. Everything is a la carte which drives me nuts. Options that are standard on a Nissan Sentra are optional on the 4S. I recommend these options (in order) Entry and Drive, Rear Camera, PASM, Sport Plus, Heated/Ventilation Seats, Air Suspension, Lane Change Assist, Full Leather, Bose or higher and then torque vectoring if lucky.

PS: If you are a wagon geek, take a look at the Panamera. It won’t replace a minivan but it does have a good amount of space. I fit both my kids (front and rear facing car seats) with minimal front seat adjustment and also sometimes put my 70lbs dog in the hatchback. Oh, it also has a 26 gallon gas tank.

PPS: One downside is I find it awkward taking my car through the Mcdonalds drive-throughs now.

With the car at 600 miles, I decided to put it in manual mode and upshift at 5k rpm. Jeezus. This car sent me to some unknown dimension with the acceleration. I've been in quite a few airplanes and fast cars, but this acceleration was surreal. In second or third gear, with your foot planted, this car will hit 90mph faster than you can process it. I give the Nissan GTR a 20/10. By far one of the greatest cars ever made, and the naysayers can only be described as badge whores. Emotionless and not involving are not words to describe this car.
