I like the car and love the sound. And as awesome as the performance is, I just don't like the looks of the current car. I couldn't spend $60k+ on a car that I wasn't completely nuts for. For anything new that's anywhere near or above $100k, I'd be in a Viper without considering any other American car. That goes for the GT as well---love the lines and am intrigued by the 6-cyl TT they are using, but the estimated ~$400k is nuts, IMO. And as silly as it sounds, I'm a manual transmission guy and the new GT won't be offering one of those.
Ford has some great cars if you put aside a few critical (well, to me anyway) elements. I just came from a '12 mustang that was a great car overall, but it was the critical details that got me into my current e92. No matter how blisteringly fast any of the modern mustangs are, they will always drive like they weigh more than they do, have a seat position that is way down in the car with a high cowl and a really long hood. If I grew up in cars like that I probably wouldn't care. Getting into the e92 though, everything just feels right. And since I'm not racing for pinks or cash, I'd rather go with the car that ultimately feels better than pulls better numbers--given that I have to make such a distinction. |

Nice sound. But boy does it look unstable. Body control seems to be lacking

5.2L naturally aspirated Flat-Plane V8 revving to 8,400 RPM? Yes. please. It's the closet thing to my '13 M3. |

For the people whining and complaining about ADM, depending on what part of the country you're on the i8 has anywhere from a $40,000 ADM to $100,000 ADM. Just sayin'.

Here's what that driver had to say about it. Ben Collins, a former "Stig" from Top Gear. The first independent mini-review I've seen.
"It is an amazing vehicle, it’s got a fantastic grip, it’s super lightweight, 525 horsepower, but I really didn’t expect what I got. The amount of power surge you get is incredible so I had a lot of fun, had a big grin." "this is another grade up, it’s weapons grade superpower." "It’s got 525 horsepower, it’s as light as a squirrel. I don’t know what the weight is but it’s tiny. It’s got big wide tires on it. It’s the Michelin Pilot Cup Sports that are providing a lot of grip. It makes a fantastic sound and you can do all kinds of extreme things with it, you can turn the traction control completely off which is what I did and just have loads of fun." http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25517 This thing makes the M4 look like an absolute bore. Yeah, labor unions and a Federal Government that hates activity that produces black smoke...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Finally Ford did it right, the looks, performance, handling, braking....I have gone to 2 dealerships to put a deposit on it...virtually impossible to get the R but possible to get hands on the base 350. I love my E92 but this thing is just bad ass..can't deny it.

Damn, that's cold lol
While I agree, Tiff looked to be deliberately inducing oversteer. Shelby guy looked like he was busy managing the beast

I never said the M4 was unique, I wouldn't want one of those either (or any new bloated BMW).

Don't need a manufacturer's car, that is claiming on every new model intro how great it is and how it can destroy the ///M3! There was a time I ran out and bought one brand new, everytime the new Mustang model came out just because I've trusted their claim's. As soon I bought it I found out what a pile of shit it actually was. Now that I burned alot of money on car's only to get dissapointed Iam happy and glad I found my exit- car, that brakes well, corner's well, engine amd transmission is like a master piece composed by Tschaikowski itself...oh and it has a very nice radio sound!
Today I compared mine again next to an GT....Meeeeeeeeeh.... I know you guy's talk about the GT 350....body lines are the same.... Last edited by vsix; 06-28-2015 at 12:01 PM.. |

Hmmm...maybe. I also know there is quite a bit of Nurburgring footage on the GT350 and the car looks extremely planted and fast! Rumor has it per one of the auto rags, laps in 7:30s.
