Ya, umm Blob, we don't all live in Canada where the roads are "more challenging than the Nurburgring", well that's what you said.
This is the next best thing to a track for me. I don't want to drive 3 hours to get a few laps in at Sebring...it's too much. If you don't like these games then just don't buy em.

I think that Forza is as accurate/a bit better. But GT is no means as ridiculous as PGR.

Yep. Sorry about that. Seems a ton of people were linking to the image in the PS3forums
I'll try to find an alt link. It's side-by-side pics of the cars in GT5: Prologue and their "real life" pics. Pretty amazing stuff.

It looks absolutely incredible BUT - watch the videos - the handling of the cars in terms of the jumps and the way the cars land is absolutely awful!!!! I'll still get a PS3 for it though.

In fact, I bought a PS3 just for those two games. Anything else that comes out for the PS3 is just the cherry on top. Although i've been playing Devil May Cry 4 and that's pretty legit as well. Playstation is always slow to start off cause their hardware/software is always hard to learn for programers at first, but eventually it turns into a beast of a system, just as PS1 and PS2 became.

Don't know about the Metal Gear, but this game has always been the bread and butter of PS...many people think if this game had been available for launch PS3 sales wouldn't have flat lined like they did.
Couple of snipets from the creator: - "For Gran Turismo 1, one car was one day's work for one man," Yamauchi said. "For GT3, one car was one man's work for 30 days. For GT5, one car is one man's work for 180 days." - Since programming 700 new cars for GT5 would take the Polyphony team five years, the game will launch with "a much smaller collection," with downloadable updates to follow. - Although the PS3 is powerful enough to handle in-game car damage implementing it realistically would require "double the work" in physics and artistic modeling....unclear whether it will be available in the game last I checked anyone heard anything on this?
