Chris Evans is totally cringeworthy. Horrible.

Leblanc was good.
Replace Evans with Chris Harris and they may be on to something.

Truly waiting for the old trio's new show to start in the fall

Evan's voice is so high pitched and thin, I think he feels the need to compensate with volume, which only makes it worse. He really doesn't have an announcer's voice.

Don't feel the chemistry is there, but the weak link is Evans and given all the controversy surrounding him to begin with, he may not last. Leblanc is a lot better out in the field vs the studio and can see him ease into the role better over time.

Agree with you here.

Even add the other bloke from "Extra Gear" with Harris and Matt and there's potential.

Extra Gear was more enjoyable than Top Gear.

ITT: A bunch of people calling out how scripted TG is, pretending as if the original TG wasn't horridly scripted.

The Viper / Corvette segment was somewhat entertaining, as was Matt's review of the Nomad.

The US vs. UK segment was absolutely horrible.

May be in the minority here... But I am perfectly fine with the cast! The others were "annoying as fuk". I didn't want hear their constant ramblings of their personal shit and corny ass sense of humor. Sure these new folks will do some of the same. But Hammond and company were bloody annoying! (see what I did there)

Anywho, they kept the STIG so all is well.

Agree, old TG was highly scripted, however the 3 were very good at coming off pretty naturally. The timing and delivery of the jokes as well as their commentary, especially out in the field was really good. You could tell when they were genuinely laughing with/at each other at times in the field. In the studio, yes it was somewhat contrived and some jokes were really cheesy, but again due to superior delivery, comes across much better than US TG or new UK TG.

Chris is annoying and Joey is kinda boring.

I do like the new rally cross track. I will give it another chance

I honestly didn't think it was that bad. I read all of these horrible reviews the morning after and decided to watch it for sadistic reasons but it wasn't absolutely terrible like I had heard it was. Of course I have some criticisms but every time a show reboots there will be some growing pains.

I think most of the outcry is coming from people who wouldn't have accepted the new presenters regardless of who they were or how well they performed.

I finally watched the first episode on the DVR this past weekend. I think my complaint about the show is they are trying to do the same exact show but with different people trying to create the same personality effect (if that makes sense). I think they needed to further change the show to distinguish it from the past - basically a new show with the old name. BBC shouldn't expect the same show with the three key people swapped out to have the same appeal. I'll probably give it another chance but expect I'll lose interest if they don't make some changes to better fit the personalities of the new hosts.

Well, they lost a third of their audience for the second episode. Looks like the BBC is pretty far up the creek right now.

This was how I felt exactly. It comes off as a second-rate version of someone else's show, rather than them taking it and making it their own.

Matt wasn't bad and I think the extra gear guys could be great. I can't get past Chris Evans yelling and jumping around. Agree with what others have said that Matt with the extra gear guys could be fun.

So....the season is getting better.

Bumps to iron out, but they're listening. We wanted Harris, they gave us Harris.

We wanted less Evans they did that too.

Next season should be better.

I'm in it for the long haul. But they need to let the chemistry of the individuals simmer a bit.

Nah, Top Gear without "The Lads" is unwatchable. I saw the first one, and the only positive was Matt LeBlanc - that tells you a lot. The new "star in a reasonably priced car" segment is stupid. Chris Evans is annoying, arrogant (and some people thought Jeremy was arrogant, sheesh), and comes off as an arse. The show is done. American Top Gear is more entertaining now - WOW, never thought I would EVER say that!!!!!!

It has gotten better but Evans should go. Sabine is okay but she is a female version of Evans in my eyes. The other presenters are better and need more screen time. Still leaps and bounds from the old trio but slowly getting better.

I'm really liking the Motor Trend guys on youtube right now, great show and rapport. Way better than this new Top Gear.
