http://www.toysrus.com/products/graco-pack-n-play.jsp you can pick between, the civic, ZCP or GTS versions. Ranges between $50 and $250 depending on whether you want all that stuff...IMO, you don't need the accessories, b/c you may elect to buy a separate changing table and bassinet/crib/co-sleeper anyways.

For my car I got some kick covers for the back of my seats. One one side I have the BMW Sport Line Bag that hangs from the headrest posts. The bag holds diapers, wet wipes, plastic bags, tissues, and other necessities. For the other side just a basic kick cover with some pockets for basic stuff.
For the seats I put a cover for accidental spills and for the windows a mess sunshade cover from BMW.

Your wife (and baby) will love you for this, one of the best strollers out there, and now in an "M" version - not kidding. This stroller is light, easy to fold up and place in your vehicle, and you'll use it for the next baby, and the next and so on.....

I'd also be aware of your seat strategy. It's gone beyond stage 1,2 and 3 now as there are hybrids. Personally, i am not a fan of the do-it-all seats as they do not provide enough safety for the baby IMHO, the popular Diono seat is one I would not recommend for this reason.
I would also avoid a booster as the kid grows, near useless, you're better off with something like the Britax pioneer that can act as a late stage 2 seat right through until jnr no longer needs a seat. Last edited by Alfisti; 07-26-2016 at 09:41 AM.. |

Go old school... I rode this style and I turned out ok -ish. And both parents smoked cigarettes with no windows down.
I kid... in all seriousness, yes... get the best seat you can and a great stroller too. You will use both THOUSANDS of times, so get a good one.

No hard evidence but my gut reaction (and apparently the gut reaction of other folk who installed the seat) was that in no way, shape or form does it provide a tight enough environment for a very small baby. The child's head moves all over the place. Does this look right to you? Looks a bit off eh. I went Britax baby seat with stroller > Britax marathon > Britax Pioneer In saying that, would be happy to look at other brands but we had the stroller and only Britax makes the final seat that is suitable for large children with a 3 point harness, the Pioneer and it's sister seat go taller and heavier than everyone else. Our second is moving to stage 2 and I discovered the Britax Marathon we used for baby 1 has broken both of it's wings. Not happy with that effort so will be looking at other options time around. The Diono is an absolute CRUNT to install too, christ i hate it. Use it in grandparents car. |

This is what an infant should look like in their first seat. Note the very limited space for their head to move in the event of an accident:

Yeah which if those two kids do you give a better chance of surviving a side impact?
Staggered the Diono is certified for such small kids to be frank. The seat is extremely popular because it will fit three wide in most large vehicles but I don't trust it under 25 pounds. |

Oh and buy a Bumbo, fucking gold those things.
Most importantly, use sleep sacks. I cannot emphasize this enough, they are safer than blankets (by miles and miles), are easy to use and keeps the kids as warm or cool as you need them to be. They are utterly, utterly brilliant. |

Costco formula (if yall plan on feeding baby formula). You will save a ton of money going that route.
Also recommend Boogie Wipes. They are great for kids with runny noses. |

Not sure if this was mentioned, but once the baby is born, you're gonna have doctors stopping by and congratulating you, and then leaving their business card, as they want your baby as a patient.
For us, the most important criteria was that my wife's Range Rover Autobiography would be able to safely park and not get dinged by these crazy parents in a hurry with their kids and strollers. So I would recommend choosing a pediatrician in advance, and taking a good look at the parking lot. Will you be able to curb your car, and have it a reasonable distance from the entrance? There will be times when you have to one-arm the carrier so can you safely do that, and get the door closed, without scratching your car? |

I dunno, I had a look too and yeah if the kid lives in it unsupervised then good luck with that. ours uses it maybe half hour a day and supervised, he likes it because he can free his hands to play and at 6 months all he wants to do is grab shit.
