This is what family does for one another

One generation stands on the back of the previous generation so to speak

Family helping family in this manner should not detract from the gentleman earning his own way in the world

Its quite a different matter if someone is an ungrateful petulent little trustafarian living off a fund and not working at all which I doesnt sound like the example illustrated

But every time someone responds to a BMW hater in the way they EXPECT you to it only further reinforces the stereotype

Lol. I,hope you see the irony. Anyway it's awesome you have parents that take care of you. If I had those stacks I would do the same thing. Yes people will be jealous they don't have your dads money. But those are the brakes. All of us would rather be born in to money than not

but i guess there's also irony in here that you were hating on a bmw owner in a thread discussing exactly that

I hate some of the stereotypes. You represent one of them. I don't hate you specifically. I don't know you personally. But the rationalizations you use are stereotypica and something i don't care for. But it comes with the BMW territory.

It's not the same thing at all. His parents chose to invest in his future, not buy him some materialistic bullshit.

If the bmw stereotype is somebody who takes advantage of the opportunity they are presented then I guess he fits the bill. I know plenty of kids who had rich parents that paid their way through school and now they make $10 hr working shit retail jobs. At least he didn't squander their investment.

With Bimmers being such capable cars you can really do whatever the h3ll you want. It's a car that's intimidating, flashy, and demands respect.

Personally I dislike pickup truck drivers the most. Their vehicles are generally loud, obnoxious, smelly, ugly, and driven by hillbillies just looking for ways to assert their "dominance" on others. Go ahead pickup lovers, I'm sure that really matters in the grand scheme of life. Personally I would never drive something so unrefined, ugly, and plasticky from inside. The people who actually need pickups seem to be the only ones who drive them in a civil manner.
I'm going to take a guess and say this guy is what most BMW haters think all BMW drivers are like.

BMWs are for young people with middle class parents who aren't rich enough to buy them Porsches.

BMWs are also for middle aged, middle class people who want luxury, class, and don't want the attention of a Porsche.

Thank you. I chose to take college seriously and graduate with honors and a job.

(But now I'm just justifying it, so that makes me a stereotype)

Maybe it's all in my head, but I feel like people are extra annoyed with me, for instance, when having to merge from two lanes into one, lol. Coming from an Audi, I never really noticed. I mean one of the reasons I liked driving an Audi was because it didn't come with the same level of stereotype. Of course, that was until I couldn't resist the M3's unsurpassed styling and performance any longer, then it was #zerofuxgiven haha But, I am doing my best to reverse the dbag stereotype by not (purposely) trying to cut people off

The whole point is that it doesn't detract from you, your worth, your accomplishments, etc. Everyone is dealt a different hand. Jealousy is on them, humility is on you.

BMWs are largely for people that enjoy ACTUALLY DRIVING cars. I have said it before in other threads...I can jump in my i8 and drive it 1000 miles without batting an eye. Same thing with the M6 to a lesser extent.

Like most brands, we represent the fringe element of BMW. Our behavior is anomalous. Sadly, 95% of the people that own the German marques will never drive them to the potential of the capabilities.

Into Germany you would definitely earn some attraction at driving your i8 caused by so less ones onto the street. Seeing the price, answers given why.
M6 in direct opposite here into Bavaria its not such an unusual model of BMW, also e.g. Audi R8.
Based onto the north-south downward gradient, you would see above more VW, Seat or Skodas, Mercedes and many japanese cars. But into the south the majority is on BMW and Audis side, this maybe caused by the mfr location Ingolstadt and Munich.
Only one BMW is present into some lower social areas and thats some 3 series models, also known as "Türkenschleuder" and thats one of the reasons that I would neverever drive one of those nor get associated with.

I suspect that with your job / income levels (guessing here) that you are in the wealth category of the top 5% and probably feel the anger / resentment from the lower masses.

Happily though, here is one example where you can truly say to people that you aren't part of the 5%.

You've got great company though, what with the beached whale that ASBSECU E93 apparently drives and the weedeater that shoei apparently drives.

Sure you can drive the M6 straight for 1000 miles... With many fuel stops and topping the oil off and hopefully, no Vanos issues... Oh, and stopping repeatedly for Overweight Vehicle checkpoints...

BMW's are basically glorified Toyotas, I don't see anything about them to hate on. Get a real car like a Honda Accord.

You could apply that to any vehicle, any brand... But, you make a good point that "we" represent a fringe - people that bought a specific car because of the driving experience. The other 95% just don't understand, I guess.

And... as a follow up to my original post... a white p/u came out of the blue and cut me off today within about 5 feet of the front of my car. I'm about to mount a machine gun turret on my roof. Maybe that will give people reason to not be idiots.

What income constitutes "middle class" now a days. I feel like my household income is slightly higher than the middle class demographic yet living in NJ I feel pretty Middle Class.

kinda shitty to be considered wealthy and be taxed to shit when in reality every dollar I earn practically 40% goes to the fucking government. And NJ has some of the hiest Property taxes. Really bullshit

That's like my mom. When I was helping her buy a car she would say oh I like the corolla or accord or whatever. I would tell her but you haven't even driven in it? She's like I don't have to drive it, as long as it goes forwards and backwards that's good to me.
