Technically all of the Korean designers are Germans.

I feel like they are out of the ideas when it comes to luxury cars... what else can you do to a 50th redesign or make it feel more expensive?

I agree, cars like the Taycan are the future... at least you are showcasing maximum tech.

Exactly my thoughts!

Huyndai hired Biermann in 2015.
I'm wondering who MB hired from Huyndai lately?

I don't have a problem with the exterior, and agree that the AMG version will look nice. It's the interior I'm most concerned about...

When are manufacturers going to get the hint that people do not want the glossy plastic!! SOME is OK, but this whole dashboard is gloss. Put a UV light on that thing after a single day and see what you find

In addition, as many youtube reviewers have pointed out, all that futuristic plastic creaks and rattles in previous models.

"Good" is a good descriptor, plain jane good. I wouldn't give it a second glance though. If the goal was to make a large car that's inconspicuous, then mission accomplished.

I thought that was Audi's role to make luxury cars that are might numblingly boring visually

Their vehicles maybe don't get your pulse racing but for the most part their vehicles look clean and not overdone. This new S-Class looks like it was styled to appease the Chinese market.

Do they need to install some non-functional switches for all of ya to flip on and off?

Porsche nailed the best interior of this era with Taycan for me.. crazily yummy..

Yep, that Taycan dash is sensational.

Like nothing about this new S Class, the design is generic Sth Korean, and that interior doesn’t look sophisticated or inviting at all.

Such a shame, previous gen S Class have felt and looked boss, especially the W221 (2007 era).

For everyone his own opinion. For me the P car interior looks cheap, and remind me of Volvo especially the open space behind the center console.

I'm not a fan of the new Taycan interior either. Materials aren't an issue, but I do not like HVAC controls that are done by touchscreen. In my experience, the Taycan's software is clumsy. If you're gonna go all touch, the software has to be really good

This is the ugliest Sclass since I can remember.

Usually their design is timeless.
This looks very Hyundai influenced.

I think they made it ugly on purpose and gave the great design to the upcoming electric EQS so ppl would buy it.

I do agree and have been against this "afterthought dedign" from all makers. But I guess it is here to stay.
