Totally agree mate, bit embarrassing to be honest.
My build/delivery dates haven't really moved out of a 3-4 window form ordering. They can't launch a car with no cars to give to customers, with respect mate I think your guy hasn't got the right info or doing something wrong when checking, few guys are all saying an end of March delivery now

This was from BMW UK Facebook messenger service who looked up my order today.
Their exact wording was “ it’s listed as scheduled which means in the early stages of production”.

Don't know if that's good or bad mate lol, early production sounds it's moving in the right direction. What info did you give them for your answer mate?

Anyone in the UK ordering the hitch mounted bike rack? Not an option for us in the US. ☹️

If I can order the part and have it shipped overseas, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I had an similar, excellent aftermarket StealthHitch for my F22 240. But alas the new
G platform is different and StealthHitch has not gotten around to the G42 as of yet!

Can always throw the bike in the boot with the seats down, but the hitch mounted rack is cool and convenient.

States here. My order for an M240i was accepted on 8/28/21, production started on 10/13/21 and in final assembly / quality check 11/12/21. It is now on week nine still in quality check and nobody from BMW can explain why the delay. I have reached out to the regional sales manager, dealership owner, CA, BMW Genius agent and they don't have answer to what my ETA will be let alone why the status is still stuck at quality check. I've tried contacting the manufacturing plant in Mexico but couldn't get through. I even had communication with an employee that said they were on holiday break for 3 weeks (12/20/21 - 1/7/22). If anyone out there knows any information, please share.

That is absolutely mental that nobody can answer why the car has been sitting for 9weeks! You must be going crazy.
I also thought the plant was a 24/7 365 setup

I'd be ripping my hair out mate, especially knowing that the car is built. Hope it gets fixed asap! Keep us posted as to why the delay

the online genius wasn’t working for me, (although they insisted it was) so they asked for a 7 digit order number beginning with a 4 or 5 which I got from my dealer

Did you check the BMW recall details tool (i posted a link on another thread). Plug in your VIN and it will show if held up with the audio control module or? But the latest i had was they were not holding em up at the factory for that module? (mine has been shipped w/o it, to be installed Stateside

From BMW UK Facebook messenger service.

Hello K

I can't see a production date, but it might be worthwhile giving your sales advisor a call. They're in direct contact with sales support so may have a little more information for you.

We are experiencing extreme delays with some customer orders due to a global shortage of semiconductor components. We're doing our best to fulfil orders ASAP, but this is taking time to sort out – your sales advisor will be able to let you know if your car will be affected by this.

I'm sure your new BMW will be worth the wait, but please let me know if I can do anything else for you in the meantime.

Many thanks

Niki

Yes all the usual platitudes with no detail.
They always tell me they can supply details of my local dealer if I need it….. I ask them how do they think I managed to buy a car if I didn’t know how to contact a dealer.

Hoping to get ours on the launch day, but there are apparently delays at the factory at the moment. No solid info yet but as it stands, we're getting ours mid-march.

Just got this emailed!!

I hope you are well,

Out of office just now!

Unfortunately, I got a notification about the cars estimated delivery date moving to first week of June! The build date is still tracking the same but the arrival is what has moved.

I will be back into office at approx. 3pm and will aim to give you a call after that for any questions you might have!

Kind Regards,
