They have been wrong in the past. Mexico Blue is brighter, so I'm surprised they're saying this.

This is Mexico Blue.

I'm pretty sure the other colour is Java Green.

So glad I spent $5000 on fire orange for everyone else to order it for free two years later.

This is pretty awesome. I like the emblem and those are some great classic colors. Would love to get my hands on an M3 like that

It says those colors would be offered, it didn't say they would be no charge options.

Yea I can't imagine BMW is offering any of them without the up-charge. The pessimist in me (which is all of me) really thinks they just had all these old emblems stocked up and probably a lot of paint that needed to be used. Cue the BMW hype machine.

Then what's the point of saying it? They are offered now at additional cost.

It will most likely a part of M anniversary package or something where one can pick any of the special colors offered without waiting for BMW individual approval like you did for yours. Also the package might come with additional cosmetic updates. It might be more of a marketing gimmick except the special limited run vehicle which they might reveal in the upcoming months.

It’s Mexico blue. They’re not wrong. They weren’t wrong the last time they said it (no, it wasn’t Miami). Also the picture you posted is edited beyond recognition.

Have you seen Mexico Blue in real life? I have. It looks exactly like that photo and also of the 911. The M3 is not edited, as looking at many other photos online of Mexico Blue will show you.

They've been wrong before. The blue in the BMW photo looks like Riviera Blue or Santorini.

Let's buy a car because of its badges...

Or hey, let's slap badges on a car that wasn't designed with them...

All hysterically ridiculous!

Unless the 50th anniversary edition is built with options, ie, mechanical and or styling/body (more then just badges) that throughout the vehicle set it apart, the badging is silly IMO.

I'm just looking at it as a serendipitous unique aspect to a car one buys in the anniversary year.

According to C/D:

Quote:
In the U.S., BMW will make the newly announced anniversary badging standard on its M division high-performance models including the M3 and M4, and it will be an option on M340i, M440i, and other M models. However, unlike in other markets, vehicles with the M Sport package are not eligible for the historic badging, a BMW spokesperson said today.
(So, yes, "free." Of course, they'll probably raise the sticker price by 8%.)

Great, throw another wrench in the gear of the "Is the m-sport real m's?" conversation!

"Does it have the historic badges?, no? not a historic car then."

Those 50th Anniversary ///M roundels better be backward compatible with older Exx and Fxx models....or there will be a riot.

I think a few years ago BMW did 3 ///M cars in the tri-color stripe paint colors. Expect that in 2022 for the 50th Anniversary.

I am a blue car guy, so these classic BMW colors would be nice to see in 2022 for the 50th Anniversary of ///M:

- Interlagos Blue
- Laguna Seca Blue
- Velvet Blue (not Blue Velvet)
- San Marino Blue

There is a new Voodoo Blue G8x M3/M4 that is close to Mexico Blue.

Cheers
