Give it time young man. Eventually you get to the point where you wake up completely wrecked, head pounding, aching, tired, and you realize you had zero drinks the night before.

...the older I get the less I care about the Oscars, other awards shows and the opinions of actors and celebrities in general. Actually, I never did care that much but now that I am old I really, really don't care.

The older I get the more angry I get about being this old. Did everything I could when I was younger to end it at 40, oh well. Oh, the more I hate going to the doctor. PTO is now Physcians Time Off.

The older I get the more I dislike people...

the more inconsiderate people irritate me...

the more I find myself listening to music at lower levels...

the more home building and renovation shows I watch...

the more I wonder how I even made it to this age with all the stupid things I did when I was younger...

...the more I question why I am the same person I was 20 years ago. I feel like everyone has changed/evolved in some significant way. I, for the most part, feel like nothing has changed.

They are not any more important than anybody else, period. I don't hate them, I just don't care about them one way or the other.

There are many fine actors, celebrities, sports stars who are humble. I care about them. If I want someone to look up to, I'll take a teacher, a cop, a health care worker, parents who do their job, etc.

I'm sort of the opposite. My wife and I were in a car wreck 10 years ago and the experts said they can't believe survived it. So, we both look at life as a gift each and every day. I've had to adjust my life around the injuries and getting older, but I've really feel that I've made that adjustment well. I'm happy for the things I can still do and not angry about the things I can no longer do. For example, I used to be an avid golfer. I cannot play anymore due to injuries to my hands, but I started hiking to take the place of golf. Now, I'm an avid hiker and I look back at golf as a nice memory of past days.

Because of the hiking, I'm probably more fit now than I was 20 years ago. I'm just glad to be here and be able to watch the grand kids grow up.

Before I turned 40 I was quite the party boy idiot (meant I was Keith Richardsing my life) did not kill me so it apparently made me stronger and here I am in good health and a happy 28 year 3rd marriage.

.... the less I like the photos of many of the women posted on the Cool Photos thread. Some of the photos are nice for sure, but others are way over the top for this old geezer. I'm not prude, but these ridiculous body-altering and face-disfiguring surgeries and fukmee poses are not my thing at all and I guess never were.

Amen! The only reason why I even look at that thread is to see LJ's posts of vintage BMW motorcycles. I never had an appreciation for the R-Series Boxer in my younger days, but in my old age I like looking at them as artwork for their primitive designs and manufacturing techniques.....
