There does not appear to be a desert area nearby, but there is a mountainous region. My guess, it is just dusty/sandy there in general? |

Oh Jesus, I hope it doesn't look like that, I hope those are fake photos. The M240 right now is looking better.

Front bumper looks extremely underwhelming, I hope it'll look a lot more aggressive in real life, and hoping the rear fenders be wider then the standard 2er

Interesting story to tell...
I spoke with my wife who is a marketing consultant for a POS company in China. However, she has had many international marketing management jobs. I wanted to get her opinion on if she thought the new M2 being built in Mexico would have a negative effect on certain buyers. She said it absolutely will (however, I disagree just so you know). Her point was that German cars built in Germany will have better conceived quality than German cars NOT built in Germany. I mean, I guess I can see that point of view. Honestly, the bottom line is going to be how well these hold up in the long run. |

Lipstick on a pig… Hopefully BMW eventually brings back real car designers instead of furniture designers.

For the narrow minded it might be, but BMW has been producing the X5 at Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina since Gen 1, the E53. The Z3 was built there for the world. The current X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and soon the XM are all built there. It is BMW‘s largest factory in the world and they export 70% of the vehicles produced there. Where it is built has little to do with quality as both Plant Spartanburg and Plant San Luis Potosí have a German management team on site overseeing the nuts and bolts of the operation. We totally saw that coming. Last edited by T_U_D; 06-16-2022 at 09:52 PM.. |

I don't have a problem with the manufacturing location as BMW has pretty good quality control standards in place and I have faith they can follow through.
As far as the side vent, If it's real I hope it won't be plugged as it was on the 1M. But the 1M was lucky to make it to production, and I can see how the bean counters couldn't make it work with such short notice and a tight budget. |

In certain markets more than others. My cousin created and own I high end audio company (speakers). The distributor in one certain region demanded that even the packaging have to be made in the Nordic country where the company is located and clearly marked as such or perceived quality will suffer greatly to a detrimental result.
