Being on the water board of the local municipal water company has it's perks
But we only have 5 trees. I sprinkle them about once a week. You'd be surprised how SMALL a tree will produce fruit. The two newly-producing are actually grafts from last winter. The third is about 20' and seems to have found it's own source for water. The one in the chicken coop is getting great fertilizer, and I dump the dirty chicken water bowls into it.

FML! I just saw in the news that raw lumber TBF prices have dropped over 50% since May. Great if you're building a house, but not so great for those of us who recently purchased a retirement tree farm.....

I feel like the past three years has been a FML period. I moved out of a great house and moved back to Nashville because of family health issues and strange client behavior then was contacted by an Ad Agency about a rebranding project that would have set me up for success. They had delays then a huge tornado went through and the pandemic started the next week.
My clients stopped shooting and I essentially became a full time caregiver for a family member for nearly two years. The cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of the ice cream was when my black cat friend hitched a ride from a total stranger who drops him off and hit and run my car. We got a picture of the license plate but State Farm won't share any information, so I may or may not get my deductible back. They said that a lady is on the registration but it was a guy driving the SUV. I asked the friend one question, "was he impaired" and the response was, "he had no business driving". FML

It's funny how rarely I need service, I'm amazed how they seem to be putting me off. I gave them the picture of the drivers license plate, why can't they contact them and give them the chance to do the right thing?

I had my DW list the Mighty Dodge for sale a few weeks ago on several online web sites. So far, there hasn't been a single call to inquire about it...not even from a Nigerian advanced-check scammer. I looked at the ad today for the first time, and the first thing that I noticed was that our phone number was cut off!
FML, I need to move this thing before the used car market crashes!!!!!

If it's any consolation, when I took a month to get all the ducks in a row with BMWFA, my price from CarMax didn't change. We sold the X3 about 10 days ago, although my wife just (automatically scheduled) sent ANOTHER payment to BMW - SMH.

My FML moment began in late 1980 when my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving me to run our small family business, plus take care of mom.
Shortly after we buried dad, I discovered that our business was on the brink of insolvency (we had just moved into a new building). I spent the next 2 years working my ass off, eventually getting things turned around and in the black. My 1st FML occurred in 1967 when I was drafted into the US Army and eventually sent to Vietnam. Like the 1980 FML, I doubled-down and made the best of it in the long run.

OK, let's lighten up this FML thread.
FML! They milled the main road leading to my office in both directions. There is no way for me to get in without traveling over it. And my damn sticky summer tires are kicking up all that nonsense. I cringe driving over it and hearing the ding ding ding as it hits the car. They milled to roads near my house in the spring and it took over a month for them to finally pave. I'm not emotionally strong enough for this.

Did I post about the trip to SC that we took last year? I rented a beater vehicle for the long weekend trip, because the Mighty Dodge's AC was broken. When I showed up at the rental place to pick it up, they handed me the keys to an absolutely brand-freaking-new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk...in white of course. (It still had pieces of the factory window sticker on the glass!) We were driving from winter in NY to spring bugville in SC, and dirt/stone roads were on our travel plans. TL;DR I was a nervous wreck that entire trip, and the real FML moment was driving on a 7-mile stretch of road made of Item 4 (coarse gravel). Thankfully, I didn't put a single ding into that Jeep, and it was a huge relief to drop it off back at the rental place when we returned home.....

They still use Fred Flintstone methods of "paving" here. Oil and gravel. It killed me to drive home on the backroads when I worked at U of I (50 miles away) back a few years ago. There was always some redneck in a pickup screaming by in the opposite direction. My car would get showered with pea stone. My beloved E39 had a gazillion chips on the nose and hood.

Wow. Sorry. I lost mine 16 months apart and that was brutal. I can’t imagine a week apart.
