Income is only one piece of the affordability math though. If you have no kid expense and student loan with only a modest mortgage debt then you probably have the same disposable income as a couple making over $300k that have kids, student loans, and a million dollar mortgage.
Plus higher msrp doesn't necessarily mean a car is expensive. If you can sell your car with little to no depreciation, which I would expect to be the case for G87 especially with the initial hype vs limited supply of used ones, then it will not be an expensive car to own.

33, turning 34 this year.
Currently driving a M2C but waiting to see what the G87 has to offer. May not go with a G87 though, really depends on the final product (the new infotainment system and gauge cluster is horrific, not sure if I can live with that on a daily). Option B is a CT5-V Blackwing with a manual |

I'm 74, currently in a '15 M4 manual. Not sure I will get the M2, but I'm #2 on my dealer's list.

29 here, got my M2C at 27. Around $125k/yr plus side investments, no student debt and car nearly paid off. Sheesh if I made 200-300k I would probably have an R8 or something.
