Yeah I caught that too, I looked through all the pictures.

See you're from STL - what dealer did you/are you getting your car from? Our 230i is coming in Plaza this weekend.

Oh well, another disappointment for G42, along with lack of side-bolster adjustment... LOL
Kneepad would be good for some track driving so I was wondering
Upon further searching, looks like you need to option for leather seats for knee pads.

I’m old enough to remember when a tool kit and a first aid kit were included in many of my BMWs. I think those days are long gone.

We ordered through Autohaus in Maplewood. Previously, we did an order for our X1 through them and have had an overall good experience. Got on their list for a 230 mid August and within a week got the call they traded for a week 46 allocation. Car should hopefully go into production in the next couple of weeks, thinking we'll see it probably in January based on estimating from others' experiences.

Congrats on getting to delivery! Good experience with Plaza?

Side-bolster adjustment comes with the leather option as well.

Only on the driver's side though. Not passenger.

Neither does any 2/3/4 Series unless you get a M3 or M4. Even my loaded M440i doesn’t have passenger lumbar or width adjustments. I never get driven in my cars so I can’t say I care that much. The 230i is my wife’s, she doesn’t care about it either. I guess it would be nice, this is my first car without passenger lumbar in 10 years. My Porsche Macan had passenger memory and it even memorized the lumbar and power thigh extenders for both sides. Was nuts. I’d still take all the other BMW advantages like much better infotainment and HUD over it though.

Plaza has been good, they did well with the 4 series a couple months ago. I’ve bought several new BMWs from Autohaus and was going to order the 230 from them but they wanted to lock in a rate higher than BMW was offering and I called them out on it. They were going to discount the car to offset but it felt weird. Walked away and went with Plaza. West Country BMW (Suntrup) is Ok too, just depends on timing with them.

Autohaus have the best dealer experience and get the car looking perfect for pickup. We bought a X5 from them in January and it went great, our sales rep who I had used for a decade left in February and I think that didn’t help. He seemed to have respect and wouldn’t have let them try the rate game.

Who knows though, I like Autohaus and hope they didn’t do the same with you!

My wife's the only one usually riding with me and mostly she doesn't need it but it's kinda useful during club drives thru twisty bits (over 100 miles of twisty bits).
But then again she's gonna get the new X1 that doesn't mention lumbar support or side bolsters at all so there's that. Chip shortage is becoming inconvenient (taking into account car prices)

I agree. I guess you just get used to it if you're buying a new BMW now. It's just weird since it was such a standard feature on their cars.

Many features can't be had for any price across the model ranges.

Uk cars have passenger bolster and lumbar adjustment. Basically the same adjustment as the drivers seat.

My 22 has it but it’s useless for me as I can’t write with my left hand 😂

What's the bimmercode situation with getting the lilac/purple ambient lighting back on MY23?

No coding options available right now for ID8, neither G42 or any platform.

BMW has change the platform internally and now the code is digitally signed so we will need some time until someone made it work and we'll see if has limitations or even void warranty...

Not sure of the validity: When I picked up the car, I asked about coding and warranty. (The part I am not sure of...) My CA came and said, coincidentally, that the VP of Warranty/Maintenance BMWNA was at the dealership and stated that it would void the warranty immediately.

Again, not sure of the validity. So, I am opting for no coding till the end of warranty period.

I asked my CA about bummer code he said if it’s surface level stuff that doesn’t effect engine tuning or safety then it’s no issue. He said quite a few salesmen and techs at the dealer use bimmercode and they’ve not had any issues.

Can any ‘23 owners confirm they have puddle lights? Looks like they dropped them on the ‘23 LCI m340s. I bought the projector lights before I took delivery of the car and now I’m wondering whether there will even be a spot to install them when I get it…

I too ordered my projectors and am still waiting for my car to arrive. Very interested as well…

For what it's worth, I had to enter my VIN, it recognized as a 23, and confirmed that the part was compatible
