Some dealers might not get any G87 M2s. So being #1 on their dealer list does not mean much.

Looks like it. He also added that their M4 CSL requires zero wait time.

Looks like I'm reaching out to my client advisor tomorrow. 3 a year!? 😢

No store knows anything about what production will look like. Don't hit the panic button.

True, unless they happen to be a center that has dropped the funds to be an “Authorized M” Center.

"Some" encouragement here, I guess. The dealer I am 4th seems to be a biggish M dealer. Thing is, they do not want to take deposit until they can enter the order in the system. I worry they will slap an ADM despite verbal and email agreement to do MSRP.

I'm 7th on the list at my dealer. My order went into the order bank the day I gave my deposit/ picked all the options I wanted. Why can't they add your order?

No clue. The other dealer where I am 9th did take a deposit and generated a draft invoice w/ MSRP. Same province.

I don't know how big this dealer is. If they only get 3 allocations/year, that means 2+ years wait. That could risk potentially lose the MT option. A deal breaker for me.

We had a discussion about this at the BMW PC reveal and they were not sure about getting one. But as Game just mentioned, production capacity is not known at this point, so we will have to wait it out. Glad I am also on a list with a dealership that should get a decent allocation.

Surely a general production m2—an m2, which everyone claims to hate—will be attainable.

I am assuming that by being “Authorized M” centers they would be receiving more M allocations that a non-authorized dealer. Is this accurate?

Yes.

That being said every dealer should only get one HEA.

I don't mind there being a limited supply initially.. I'm happy for these to slowly enter the market than become common place.

More on topic, been spending time watching the markets tumble, especially crypto this week..

I would prefer to do business with a dealer who operates this way. What are they going to do with a deposit for a car that can't even be ordered yet? Make an advance yacht payment on the owner's massive yacht? IMHO dealers should just make a list and once the car is actually orderable, call everyone and whoever ponies up their deposits gets their order placed, in the order the deposits are received. THAT is when you negotiate your deal as well.

Supposedly… One would think that would be the actual case and NA presents that theory to centers, but I have witnessed otherwise. As Game has previously mentioned there are other internal dynamics involved.

Not sure what dealer is letting this guy do it for almost 6 months. I know there's another one that offers similar services... Bavarian something. Anyway, it's a thing.
"This guy" lol. I am in Germany with a long relationship in time with my dealer. M2 order is not USA model. My order is complete and my current rental was offered to me. Now the waiting..........

3 a year per dealer? That sounds like B.S.

BMW will crank out as many as they can. that Mexico plant has a capacity of 175,000 units per year and while it probably doesn't run at capacity now, they will continue to ramp up production to close to that capacity. Granted, this plant will be producing other models as well, but i don't believe M2 output will be limited at all.
