To me you are trying to help and I appreciate that input. Maybe, reconsider delivery.

Thanks for your support on this forum.

What if the driver's package added an HP bump would that make it more enticing?

With these cars, sneezing at the engine provides a bump. Aftermarket will provide many options, and several turners will provide warranties with their products on the S58 (Dinan, Schnitzer, etc.).

Yeah all those aren't great. Really JB4 is ok but the only way for real consistent and reliable power is sending your ecu away for unlocking when it's available.
But yes I know all about the aftermarket stuff that's out for the S58.
My question was if along with the bump in top speed which is negligible would more hp make the pill easier to take when being forced to buy the drivers pack in the carbon pack.

If it came with more hp it would be a no brainer for me until I was ready to go PI and upgrade the clutch.

I wouldn't say since it doesn't cost them anything just to slap the original S58 tune on. I would just get the cf pkg think it's a great price just all things considered after all the brackets and the 2 seats from Recaro would cost just about the same and you would be missing out on the cf trim and cf roof. Also drivers pkg comes "free" then. But I do get the stand point of why can't you just do everything individually but it might just come down to stock of the parts. During July or at least I believe it was that month they didn't do cf roofs because of low supply so it might have bit them in the ass doing it as a "free" option on G80/G82.

Do not forget Steve Dinan’s company CarBahn and is whom I would trust out of the aforementioned. https://carbahn.com/

Bumping this thread now that carbon buckets can be optioned separate from the carbon package with MY25.

I'm on the list for an allocation and can't seem to land on whether or not $4500 is a good price for the seats. I know they go for 12-30k in the aftermarket but I highly doubt that will be the case for long.

Carbon roof all the way but on the fence about the seats.

Thoughts?

No thanks - I did a few test G80 drives with them and they're a pain in the ass for a daily.

Not one bit. Car had 7200 miles or so and they still look new.
They are extremely comfortable, look more than special, I fit in them like a glove, and it makes driving the car a sense of occasion.

Not getting the carbon seats. Putting that $ toward a tune and exhaust.

Maybe if you combo pushing the seat back before getting in and sliding both feet after you sat down, this gets reduced. Do you do any of those?
No, I just get in and out and not sit directly on the seat bolsters. I've got a 44 shoulder and 30 waist, athletic build, maybe that plays into it. I simply plop my ass into the seats and get out normally.

I spent probably 12 hours driving on them last weekend (to/from DFW to Austin and all over the city). Zero complaints from me or my wife.

I originally specced a car with standard seats but came across a discounted carbon package and decided the pull the trigger. So glad I did. The carbons require extra consideration on ingress/egress but really do make the drive feel more connected. Low mileage (1,800) but zero wear. Honestly, don’t care if they do wear. It’s worth it to sit in them. YMMV.

No problem whatsoever on long trips. I have back problems, so I was concerned about that too, but they are very comfortable.

My only remaining issue is getting in "gracefully", still working on that after 1800 miles, but I'm overweight and a bit north of middle age.

I tried the backing of seat to get in and out, and it helps a bit, but not that much, and I don't bother with that anymore.

Like someone else said, they make the car that much more special to drive, and they just hold you tight, great feeling on twisties. Complement the carbon roof real nice, and mine came with a lot of exterior carbon bits, so it all goes together perfectly.

I'm worried with the accent they won't go with the purple or green I'm considering.

I have to take the roof. I think I want the driver's package. So I'm just torn on all the blue clashing with the purple and green.

I did the same before ordering my G87.

Realized then my caboose is better suited to Comfort not Sport/Sport+ Mode.

I’m pretty skinny and in shape, and I couldn’t get out of the freakin’ things. Quick egress is a challenge. I tried multiple ways, different visits and really wanted to make them work.
I want to daily this thing as much as possible and not have a garage queen which means coffee, backpack, 2 phones etc and trying to get in and out in a hurry multiple times every day. Nope I’m good. If it was a weekend-only car.. maybe. Not to mention the wife and daughter, or friends, should they want to go for a ride, which will probably happen more than I think. I’m thinking the passenger side running trim would get used as a running / stepping board for sure!
But they absolutely are badass seats and they grip and they were pretty comfortable on my test drives.

Understood.
I’m 6’, 165#, and slide into the seats with ease.
Just don’t find the seats comfortable enough for daily driving but understand their appeal.
They look awesome.
