Thanks for the pics! Was this a test car or preproduction model? Wondering why there is still a black tape covering the M logo on front calipers…

A couple shades darker would have been nice. Just like on the F87 M2C there are only 3 color options besides white/black and one of those is basically off-white?! I don't get it…

I think lots of people are hoping for new colors in the next model years or individual paint. The baby blue does nothing for me... maybe TR once I see it in person.

One of the butt ugliest cars BMW has ever made IMO. And to think it's replacing such a perfect and pretty prior generation M2. Sure beauty is subjective but what the heck was BMW thinking? Yuk IMO. The front end reminds me of a snow plow truck or prior gen F150 with a bit of 4Runner thrown in..

Great pics and thanks for sharing.

Technically, Crevier BMW is located at Santa Ana, not Costa Mesa.

Are you sure you're not a photographer because you took excellent pictures from great perspectives. They are not too high or at weird angles which tends to skew everything. Great job and thank you, your pics really show the cars details better than any others I've seen to date.

I'm hoping the LCI will make some changes, but either way I'm likely to get the car. I have some aesthetic tricks up my sleeve to make it look the way I want.

I really think BMW has some of the best shades of blue of any manufacturer by far but this color is terrible. This car needs a better blue.

I'm more worried about something hitting the radiator from underneath. S55 had the same design and that happened to a bunch of F8x cars.

* PSA *
If you have a car that has an oil cooler underneath (e.g. S55, S58) and hit anything from the underside of the car immediately pull over, turn off the engine and inspect for any leaks. If you rely on the check engine light it'll be too late, by the time that comes on your engine will have already been starved of oil and will seize up. You're likely F'd at that point and will need an entire new engine.

What bothers me is where the hood meets the top of the front bumper. It doesn't look like it's a nice even flow. If u were to take a level and put it between those two piece, there would be a huge gap because the angle where they meet are so diff. Seems so odd.

I think we're still not looking at a production model. The front fascia is a different color than the hood on this car!

Same color just reads that way due to the different angle of the reflection of the hood vs bumper

Admittedly, I wasn't there, but I believe you're mistaken. All the images here show the hood and front fascia appear different shades of blue in this car.

Since images are from a single viewpoint, the panels can appear slightly different color due to the different angle of the hood and bumper. We'll have to ask those who saw it in person for the real answer.

What confuses me is that the tires are mid 2021, already over a year old and my G80 came with PZero's. So maybe BMW had rerouted the 4S to Mexico for the first few to launch on 4S. I dont hate the car, would get a different colour though. I like flat blue but this looks too milky

It is definitely not amazing, but we have seen uglier from BMW. I was at the PC event that your photos are from. In my opinion the front end is certainly worse than the rear, at least in person. Zandvoort Blue is dreadful and it does zero favors for the car.

Typically a 3rd party paints the front and rear bumper covers for BMW. They are not painted in the same paint shop as the body.
