I would wager that generally speaking the venn diagram of BMW fans who find the G87 acceptable and those who find the G80/82 acceptable has quite a bit of overlap. Namely those of us who are more open to new things. If looked at charitably, the G87 has boxy, aggressive e30 design queues and a new take on the more traditional grille shape. Similarly a charitable interpretation of the G80/82 design is that the grille is a scaled up version of the original tall and narrow "kidney grille". I guarantee both designs will age well and be refined through LCI's and by the time the HXX generation of M cars bimmerpost will be full of more hand wringing about the designers have once again lost their way and the previous generation had it all right ![]()

I don’t understand why everyone went mad about the M3/4 grill when I can’t get with the M2 rear. Still looks like a disguised pre production mule imo

I realize this is an entry level vehicle, but the front end just looks so cheap. I do like the running boards though. Great to wipe your shoes on or step on to make getting in the car easier.

Yes the car is at the main Lux dealership as well as the M3 Touring and 3.0 CSL which were all displayed at Brussels motorshow 2 weeks ago. BMW typically moved from Brussels to Luxembourg some of their new releases to support the Lux autofestival which is just following the Brussels motorshow. The Lux autofestival is however not a motorshow, just 2 weeks of special sales conditions in all Lux dealerships

I am not opposed to the front (yes, its different than any kidney version but better than bucktooth beaver frille). What bothers me in the from is that soild piece of plastic by the headlights...which I will get over or do a custom opening to bring added air to the engine bay/turbos depending on how things are set up behind the pieces.

We have already determined this guy does not know what he is talking about. ![]() It is fairly flat and for me it is reminiscent of an E36 which I owned several of new. |

I was only referring to his take on the front bumper design.I didn't realize that he blew the weight figures for the CF roof and HP numbers.Interesting that he didn't do his homework. He does a ton of YouTube car videos.

That blue they keep showing the car with is truly atrocious. I think red, white, and black are going to be the way to go until we can choose individual colors.
