Here you can fit "box" from AC Schnitzer ( had and have on few cars ) and as BMW acknowledge that , you will not lose the 3 years official warranty first , but also have a warranty directly from AC Schnitzer

Have driven a fair number of high performance cars. When I use them for every day driving -- work commute mostly -- I drive in a manner that conserves fuel. Driving in such a way doesn't require much effort. Just common sense driving. But when I'm on a pleasure drive I am less concerned about fuel economy. My Dodge Challenger Hellcat sucked at fuel economy when I used it for my 60 mile work commute averaging around 15mpg vs. 30mpg my MINI JCW delivered. But then on a road trip from CA to AR the Hellcat averaged in the low 20s MPG. For a 707hp 4600lb car not too shabby. Sure had I driven the JCW it would have delivered much better numbers. Never got a chance to take the JCW on that road trip but I drove a 2023 MINI S from AR to CA and back last January and it averaged over 30mph and the speed average was pretty close to the posted limit of (mostly) 75mph so I wasn't high miling the car. |

Agree but the gas tank size seems a bit dumb. Could do 200 miles on a weekend road trip somewhat easily or burn the equivalent in gas going somewhere 60-70 miles away and then driving through town with some spirited driving. Seems annoying from a constantly filling up gas perspective.

At least we won’t have to plan our trips based on where charging stations are.
ICE FTW! Carry on then… |

I think there is a difference between caring about MPG and overall range. 260 miles is a pretty short range. Especially if you start pushing it on some fun roads. What do we think that's going to drop down to for spirited driving? 175 miles? I could care less if the car gets 10 MPG if it has a 250 mile range carving through the mountains.

with a steady speed @71 - 74 mph only highway trip I think its achievable. I get 400 + miles range easily while averaging 35 mpg - 32 mpg on highway only with my g42 (and around same curb weight with the g87; same tank size)

I know, but should be by not much since in essence same year tech inside the engine and same engine at the base. thats why I said in between 350-400 miles give it or take.
But this again, just in theory for now. |

this is one of my work commute trip data , even if I also drove in a spirited way in sport plus mode (notice the average speed) to get past all the traffic blockers on the 3rd fast lane ( yes, Ontario daily commuters are the worst ) I managed around 32 mpg ...
Indeed legendary and insane engine! |

At $4/gal., 1000 mi./mo. means I would be paying over $200/mo on petrol. On top of the monthly payment of the vehicle and maintenance costs. A performance EV does the same for less than $30/mo. including maintenance. Not to mention of continued use of fossil fuels. 19 mpg is about the same as a Ford Bronco or Raptor |

$6/gallon gasoline does that. Still have *concern* for fuel economy on my mind even several years away from CA and in the land of very much less expensive gasoline. |

I have sold around a thousand cars. T_U_D has been in the business much longer than me so he probably has thousands. It is a very small percentage of performance car buyers that care about gas milage. And it's because it really isn't a big concern, or it shouldn't be. Using your example, driving 1000 miles a month at $6 a gallon will cost you $300 a month at 20 MPG. At 30 MPG you will spend $200 a month. $100 a month should not be a concern if you are buying a 70k car. I cannot wrap my head around any scenario where a client buying a 70k car is going to have trouble increasing their fuel costs by $100 a month. Now consider the average gas price in the US is actually $4.20 for premium, the disparity drops even more. You are actually looking at $210 and $140 respectively. If $70 a month is concerning then you really should consider a lower priced car, not a more efficient car. |
