The figure is on the specs for the M2 on the USA so it’s taken into account that it was weighed w/ a full tank of gas.

He stated he had 88% tank of gas. G87 has a 13.7 gallon tank. 88% of that would be ~12.06 gallons.

1 gallon = ~6 lbs

13.7 - 12.06 = 1.64

1.64 * 6 = 9.84 lbs

Add that to the total weight and that's roughly what you'd get if it had a full tank using the back of napkin math.

Beautiful collection in the shop today: E30, Testarossa, two 911's, two R8's, Ferrari 330GT, numerous custom builds. Shop owner drove his M5CS with 800hp, and his daughter drove her E39 M5 with BBS one piece forged wheels. Killer family.

G87 M2 (manual, cf roof) -- 3762 (+10 for full tank i guess?)
M2 comp manual -- 3561 (car and driver)
M2 CS manual -- 3489

its over 200 more than the last m2c

Presuming you're in Australia too, standard turnaround from Mexico would be 6-8 weeks taking us to July, but given the backlog of cars waiting to be cleared at the ports, I'm preparing myself to wait an extra month or two

If you did the full carbon pack and super light forged wheels, you'd be at 3700 with a full tank. The shop owner and I bet weights and he was off by almost 100 despite being ridiculously knowledgeable. In my view, we already knew it was heavy, but with a little work you can easily get to 3650 which isn't that bad for a car with this kind of grip and power.

If you went ham and ripped out rear seats, did carbon bracing, exhaust, and did carbon body panels you could easily be at 3500.

211/3561 = 0.059

5.9% weight gain. For a more powerful, stiffer, wider, better handling car with more amenities. Still a good trade to me.

To me it feels like a shorter throw, feels notchier. I wouldn’t call it rubbery. The power is nice. This thing will haul some serious ass. I only drove it for about 10 minutes, a mix of city roads, back roads and a highway sprint. It pulls juuuuust fine. I felt absolutely no issue with the S58 being paired to this manual. You just have to know how to drive. TH should’ve pulled from at least 3rd from 30, if not 2nd. The gears are tall. I didn’t get to toss it around, obviously, but I could tell just from leaning on it through a few turns that the back end will break out quite nicely if and when you want it to. This is a more capable and more confident car.

Build quality feels great. ID8 is very nice. It rides surprisingly well with the chassis in comfort, from what I remember. The car definitely looks bigger, and feels bigger from behind the wheel as well. Oh and the standard sport seats are actually really nice. A lot more comfortable than the M2C I had.

As an owner of multiple F87s, the car does feel more grown up, but not in a bad way at all. My wife said it looked more grown up, and she likes it better than my F87.

Thank you very much for posting these pictures.
You have done many a good service here.

I saw the Brooklyn Grey M2 at the BMW performance event last week. Indeed, as many have said, it definitely looks better in the flesh. I however was not able to really visualize it against my F87. Your pictures have really helped.
Thanks.

Also, is the F87 in that pic lowered?
Cos I thought the G87 is supposed to be shorter in height but it does not look that way in the pic?

Thanks.

I was going to say since I get about 150 to 180 miles out of a full tank of gas in my M2C, he either stopped for gas or got very good mileage.

I test drove a M2 demo car today but it wouldn’t let me pull up the mileage from the road test on the screen for some reason when I was checking out all the controls and screen functionality

Yes, it’s on coil overs with about a 1 finger gap, so the pics aren’t the best comparison height-wise. I’m really dying to see pics of how the G87 looks once people lower it. I think it’s going to look a lot meaner.

It just occurred to me which shop you were at. The Troys.

Edit, I should have known this instantly when you mentioned the M5CS, but it went right over my head.

Test drove an HEA M2 on Saturday. ZF8 ZB. Didn’t dog it, but all I have to say is it’s like my M240 on steroids. Steering is better. Road feel is better. Brakes are better. Just feels more buttoned down, tighter, precise.

I really liked the standard sport seats(my M240 has the standard sensitech seats, which I feel like I’m sitting on, not in). Seemed comfortable to me and provided plenty of support with side bolsters. I’d prolly go with CF buckets but I’m getting too old to struggle with the ingress/egress. M highlights don’t do it for me. I’ll go black with blue stitching. Full Fat M stuff here. Love the ///M stitching everywhere. Can’t wait to try the 6-spd manny.

Here are some pictures. It really changes in the light/angle from the camera. It looks more like the washed out baby blue in the first pics in person to me. And the pictures don’t do the styling justice. Just like the M240.

Looks like this M2 is still up for grabs as of this morning. I was quoted MSRP. No ADM or other silly crap added to price.

I added some pictures of the BG X3 I parked next to for color comparisons. This solidifies my decision going with BG on my M2 build.

For those keeping track: Michelins and it had 33 miles when I got in. 44 miles when I finished test drive. CA said he drove it a bit on Friday.
