One thing I definitely wish my upcoming M2 had from my 2022 M240 is the cockpit screen and infotainment layout lol

You said the G42 did not have those items. You said nothing about those items being M specific or M tuned.

Does the G42 have cooling enhancements (ZTK)? Yes
Does the G42 have adaptive dampers? Yes
Does the G42 have a limited slip diff? Yes
Does the G42 have performance settings? Yes

You literally said none of the above was available on the G42.
Dude you’re trying wayyy too hard .. G42 is an awesome car don’t get me wrong.

But ZTK while great does not compare to M2’s cooling system.

Adapative dampers are tuned entirely different as well.

Limited slip D , this I’m not quite certain about. However I’d wager it’s parameters are not in the same ball park as the M2 , along with traction control threshold.

Performance settings … cool literally every car has that these days. Hondas, Kias, Fords even. For the engine/transmission atleast : Economy, Sport, etc .. And most luxury or sport cars offer it for Steering as well . Nothing earth shattering to be boasting about

The 230i is not in the same class as the M240i, and same goes for the latter & it’s big brother M2.

You crack me up.

Does G42 have paint? Yes.

Does the G42 come standard with windshield wipers? Yes.

Does the G42 come equipped with headlights? YES!!

DOES The G42 have 4 genuine rubber tires? Yup.

Just like the M2.

But guess what, it's not the same!

Now, settle down and chill out. I like your non-M BMW. It's a fine car.

I have owned 8 M cars, and a couple "M Sport" and "iS" bimmers. I've driven dozens of bimmers over the past 35 years. I liked the M sports, they were very nice. But they were not the same.

Nothing wrong with them, but, come on.... they are not the same. That's why we enthusiast's feel so passionately about the brand.

Hmmm...the one thing I wish the M2 had that the G42 M240 has is the 360 camera (I have the 2023 version so I get the iD8 and big screen. ).

Couldn't agree more mate. I'm dreading the tight spiral ramps in shopping car parks that I currently use the 360 for (on a 330i!)!

I was able to drive my G42 with the updated suspension against an M2 comp yesterday and the modifications made every difference. The wider tires and lower center of gravity really allowed me to easily keep up with the M2C.

I decided to sell my G42 and use the G87 as my daily. I am going with the carbon buckets so I am not expecting that the G87 will be nearly as good a daily as the G42 but am hoping I can live with them as I do not commute to work and do not drive much during the week. The fact that 80% of my driving is spirited weekend driving the G87 should be fine. I lived with a Gt4 for 18 months as a daily so I am use to getting in and out of carbon buckets
