Kind of a stretch to call carbon fiber lip pieces a body kit but... obviously the reason it's being compared to the M2 is because BMW could have added tasteful/more aggressive body styling to the existing 2-series platform instead of a complete redesign of the front in particular.

All these mf’s talkin about the 240 looks better than the m2.

Go back to when that thing launched, it’s probably the same heads that were pressed about “tHe TrIaNgLeS” talkin about how epic it is now.

This car has a full carbon kit, is lowered, on wheels, with satin ppf. No shit it’s gonna look better.

I swear 80% of people on here have a serious sheep mentality.

Man, I wish the G42 and G87 had steering as sensitive as some of our members on here.

It looks better bone stock too.

I don't believe anyone likes the front end of the M2 better. Guessing it's mostly people who put in an advance order and are finding ways to cope.

There's 8 billion people on this planet and you can't fathom how anyone truly might like the front end of the M2 better?

Statements like that are why many people can't be taken seriously and are just here to troll.

Lmao you can’t even talk with a handle like that.

In 1 year from now people will be asking you at any car event “why didn’t you get an m2?”.

And you’ll be that guy trying to convince people that the m240 is somehow a better enthusiast car.

Like someone said previously “it’s a bad look”.

Hate to break it to you but your car will never perform better than the m2 in any metric aside from 0-60.

So you better keep your fingers crossed they don’t drop an xdrive.

Don’t get me wrong the 240 is great.

Oh lawd, don’t be one of “those”. I like my M240 and the way it looks. I got mine in black to blend in the glossy black parts and the triangle vent openings because I didn’t like how that looked. To me, they fixed both with the M2. I will admit as will many, I wish the lower front lip was body colored and came out flush with the rest of the bumper but overall I still think it looks better than the G42.

The M240 is a great car for a great price but lets stop with the crazy talk.

Lol

You’re right, seeing the 240 guys tears will be beautiful.

Listen.
I have no skin in the game here, but I can’t be the only one seeing the copium in the threads these days from f8x and g42 owners.

It just comes across as cringy to anyone who doesn’t have a bias.

I don't think there'll be tears in anyone's eyes. I think whether you bought the 240 or the M2, you'll be happy with your purchase because let's keep it real, not a one person will be swayed from their purchase by someone posting that the other car "looks better".

I hear what you're saying TrentMeister, I think it's more of a warm and fuzzy's kind of thing from G42 owners knowing that the step-up isn't really a step up, aside from a few metrics that daily driving G42 owner's don't need. Had the car been visually better than the G42 (opinion), I'd be a little envious, even though I'd never pay what their asking for it given you'd be close to G80 territory once optioned.

I respect that.

And just to be clear…

Hands down I think the m240 is the best bang for buck ride on the market right now.

And I do think it looks REALLY good when the fitment is dialed in.

That’s the thing that the M2 elitist need to understand too. M240i owners are not wannabe M2 owners, I mean sure *some* are. The base price of a M2 is barely more than a loaded G42 anyway. The cars have a different roll, and by excluding XDrive from the G87, the potential overlap is minimal. I’ve said I won’t get a G87 without Xdrive which is probably true, but when I do twiddle my thumbs and think about how much I love my G42 and maybe I’d like a G87 also, my major confliction is that I struggle to consider trading my G42 in for it… that’s how little a G87 can fill the roll of my G42. I honestly think I’d trade my X3M for it, since I don’t drive it much since getting the G42.

This thread took a turn 🤣 I think we all agree that each car has their merits, we will be keeping the 240 along side the M2 as it will be our daily. The M2 will be the all singing all dancing track car.

Thanks for linking the video, was just about to do the same.
