If the cast iron, or steel, is being harmed by that block of wood, then that BMW is going to have a long hard life ahead of it.

maybe i am crazy but i'd prefer not to have the weight of my car sitting on a brake rotor... this is usually done when wheels are stolen... either way whoever gets this car, i wish them luck

Turns out it was one of the managers. He turned TC off and drifted into the median. It was their demo M2, so the only unhappy customers are the ones now left w/o a test drive.

LOL. When I was a teenager I worked at a Benz dealer, and somebody did this exact thing with a CLK63 Black Series. We had to rate our own drifts back then.

Two comments:

1 - I can't believe they left the car parked in full customer view, vs bringing it out back.

2 - I hope lots of people continue to buy the base 18"/19" forged (actually flow formed) G80/G82 wheels. So these show up regularly on the "take-off" market for sale. Cheep way to get much lighter wheels and save ˜50lbs of rotational mass.

That’s what I was told as well, sales manager took it for a spin! I tried to buy it right before it ended up smashed lol.

I bought a used 2008 335 Convertible from a dealer in MD,...and they disclosed to me that the car had suffered damages that amounted to $2,000.00. I think this was outside of the CARFAX reporting. So, the dealer may or may not disclose the damage to a potential buyer!

Right! And what would we rather have; damaged or broken rim or damaged or broken suspension. While this suspension probably has issues too, I think I would prefer to sacrifice the rim to (at the very least) lessen the damage to the suspension. And snapping the rim off May help prevent the car from rolling.

You said you "tried to buy it"; what kept you from it? Just curious if there's a mark-up, and if so how much?

They refused to sell it because it was an HEA car, however they sold their HEA XM. They were trying to get me to agree to purchase it at 3k miles, but I said no lol.

Maybe I should considered the fact the OEM cast spokes could be marketed as a “crumple zone” if I decide to sell them? 😂

However, at 19.2 lbs. I’ll take my chances with my forged 19x9.5’s.

Guess it’s hard to see the curb when the rear bumper sticks out like 3 feet….
