Pretty clean overall. Fender vents are a no for me. Love the duck tail.

Compare it to previous BMW designs and tell me it's better with a straight face. I get that not everything will look better over time, and cars get more bloated due to regs and other reasons. Almost all manufacturers are guilty of this, but BMW is by far the worst offender. They went from subtle, elegant designs to gaudy "look at me" designs. Everything is over styled. I'm a diehard BMW fan and have owned every gen M3 up until the F80, but I know I'm not the only one who has a sour taste in their mouth about the direction the brand has taken. Maybe it's just me becoming an old fart. As I said earlier though, different strokes for different folks. Don't take my words too seriously as everyone has different tastes and that's what adds flavor to the world. And I've owned a z3 M coupe and z4 M coupe which many would describe as disgusting so 🤷

6 out of 7 cars that I owned before the bimmer were Japanese and I grew up a big fan of cars like the FD RX-7, Silvia S15, R32-R34 GT-R's, Mk IV Supra, etc. Unpopular opinion but deep down I've always felt that most BMW designs are pretty romanticized and exterior wise they don't do much for me. Not trying to offend anyone who loves those cars, as naturally many here do, but just my honest opinion. It's probably why the look of the G87 appeals to me. Like you said, different strokes for different folks |

I suppose that's part of the appeal of older BMWs. They're pretty understated and unless you're really into the marque, it's easy to be apathetic towards their older cars. They have hints of aggressiveness, but nothing over the top. Whereas the newer cars you either love it or you're repulsed by it, but they evoke a stronger response than apathy even from those that couldn't care less about cars.
I also grew up loving JDM cars, but somehow found my way to be a BMW whore. Still a JDM fanboy at heart. Either way sorry, I don't want to side track this thread. The parts are lovely. If I liked the car and had one, I'd definitely buy em. Cheers! Last edited by fullyflaredd; 06-02-2023 at 06:45 PM.. |

That grille is a big no. Horizontal slats are already borderline acceptable on this car but simplifying it to just a single horizontal slat is a big eye sore imo. Need to come out with a vertical CF grille…

You get the idea. It sounds like the M2 is at the very least as good if not better than the M3/M4 and just so happens to be cheaper. Personally I'm probably never dropping $20k on exterior upgrades alone on any car. I was just saying given those two options I'm taking a personalized M2 over an M4 for the same $. The M2 hits $72,100 with the carbon pack alone, so people are basically picking it over a base M4 now given that they start at $77,000. A less than $5k difference is not factoring in to which car people want when they're already spending over $70k. People want the M2. |

Even though I actually love the fenders, I don't think I could go through with it. Porsche fenders belong on a Porsche. However, that being said, the rest of this kit is absolutely perfect. The ducktail is life 🔥

The difference is, I hope, based on what I’ve heard about alpha-N on the F87, that some of these items might actually be functional.
So the adjustable spoiler, diffuser, and some other stick-on rear spoiler might be the way to go. Plus up with the aero vented fenders for a track car and leave them unpainted (get a black car?). The carbon hood IMO is a no no for a track car, where debris or an off are very possible. Most other vendors, including OEM M Performance parts, are just for (sometimes questionable) looks. But these here might improve performance and not via the minor weight loss. I’d do it.

Easily the best G87 I’ve seen yet.
Can’t go wrong with E88’s & the ride height is spot on too. Love the functional vented hood & CSL style boot lid. Retractable splitter as fitted to the AMG GT black series is fantastic also.

Looks amazing! I've seen this kit whilst its being developed and excited to see the whole look. There are a number of variations which will allows for different looks.
We pretty much had the whole Alpha N kit on our F87 M2 so you looking forward to doing the same on our G87 when it arrives shortly. |

Some additional launch media from Alpha-N added to the initial post to get a better look at a complete package.
