Aftermarket it is.

What status your car at?

My build is at Ready to Transport currently. I have been trying to get that Suspension option added since before Production Begins with no luck through my CA.

They would have most likely needed to go to NA and get the distribution manager to add it.

Code Z58. Ask your CA to find out, sounds like they're just trying to get you to accept "no" as an answer. I added it when it was "In Transit". It did not come up on the port install list but like the previous post said, they'll have to go further up the chain to get it added. I'm getting my car out of MD so Baltimore does do the install as well.

My thinking is, the lowering will likely:
1 - Add a tiny bit more static negative camber (anything helps).
2 - Slightly lower static C.G.
3 - The G80/G82 calibration (stiffer rear springs) will further reduce understeer (which I despise).
4 - Slightly reduce high speed lift.
5 - Provide some corner balancing adjustability.
6 - Placebo effect, that I at least tried it
You were too convincing , ended up adding this to my order for $2,820. I was going to go after market but the savings would have been just few of hundreds and don't want to risk any warranty issues.

Ha! I'm not even sure I'm fully convinced myself. But my order just went to 112 - scheduled for production - so soon it will be too late to back out.

The only thing I don't like about the port install is that they don't give you your original parts.

Anyway - I have to trust it will be a decent suspension.

When it is port installed, those become your original parts. They are listed on the Maroney Sticker (window sticker) and why covered under the full 4 year warranty.

Hi. What is KDS? Alignment machine? Alignment report? Work order?

And how do we make this request to "Center's NA Rep"?

Thank you.

There aren't any savings. KW, for instance, is $1,080, versus $1,700 for MP HAS, but my experience is that the independent shops aren't really familiar with the more complicated installation involved with the adaptive suspension. Takes them a lot longer, so they charge more for installation.

Plus, no warranty.

Go with MP HAS.

I have a friend with an indy shop and he quoted $800~$1,000 for the install. However, didn't want to be the guinea pig...

That's what my shop, which does BMWs only, thought, but the install is a lot more involved than on other (especially older) bimmers.

KDS is the "Kinematics Diagnosis System" - basically the alignment report coming from the port mechanics.

Thanks to this thread, I had the MP HAS installed on mine while it was sitting at the port waiting for a recall to get fixed. I didn’t receive an alignment sheet but did find the tools in the trunk with the front license plate bracket.

I’m very thankful of this thread and glad it was able to be added. One less thing to deal with after getting the car.

Congratulations! That drop looks perfect. Enjoy your new car!

Can anyone with the MP HAS comment on whether they're scraping a lot of driveways?

I have the MP HAS on my build, but I might wait a bit before I add a front lip in fear of it getting destroyed on driveways.

I have a pretty steep driveway and have not had any issues. I just make sure my approach angle is correct and I’m good to go.

I have port installed HAS still at height set by BMW (I want the suspension to settle before lowering any further). I have a decent dip at the end of my driveway due to drainage for the swale and no, not scraping. Here is what the car looks like after 500 miles.

Congrats. Your M2 looks way lower than other I’ve seen with the port install.

I too have it on my build. Hoping I’ll like it.

Thank you both for the input! I should be fine, but was a little concerned considering that my 135 at stock height scrapes the nose when I back into the driveway at the wrong angle. That said, I'll definitely be less careless when it comes to backing in the M2.

I have port installed MP HAS and my alignment seems off to me. I also don’t have alignment documentation from the port. Checked with my CA as well and nada. Any thoughts?

Yeah I’m going to give that a shot. They better not charge me for an alignment! Lol
