With power mods. I agree with you on gearing changes or
Even Better steering racks. When the VA STi got that killer hydraulic steering rack I had to put one in my 2011.

I’ve traded up for better interior, colors etc but not 20 HP.
I bet your M2 still kills that STi

Def not kill. Would be very close. STi might even pull. 450 whp STis trap like 120.

I’m still breaking in the M2. STi feels faster because of the gearing and power hits so hard while the M2 is silky smooth like an NA car.

With just a tune on the S58 it would be game over for my Subbie though. Potential on the M2 is just so much more for less $$

Don't care much about the HP as it's inflated and getting tuned at some point. I'm curious about AWD and colors. Portimao blue is great but I wish it wasn't flat.

Lol what year S4? What happened? I got out of my 2015 S4. Plan was supposed to get a beater and then get the M2 when it first came out but plans changed. I have been back and forth between a new RS3 and the M2 but have finally decided on the M2

My 2020 sti definitely has better gearing (they totally fixed 3rd gear in the last few years of this model. Even with stage 1 for me, it’s a totally different car one its own and a lot of cars will kill it on the straight, but that isn’t what makes the car fun. And the cup 2 tires on it make it fantastic.

This might explain the M2s power increase this early in its lifecycle and before LCI.

Really! BMW M will be loosing its exclusivity if they do end up with S58 motors.

Wouldn’t surprise me given you can now get an S motor in a non-M car. I’m most curious about the dual clutch paired to the S58 when BMWs only get a slushbox.

Only a whopping ~400 cars available to the US market. That $80k - $87k sticker will probably translate to a markup of over $100k.

The DCT is the bigger news. Could that make it's way into the M2??

It's likely the remapping of the power curve.

All ICE M60 models switched from using the N63 to the S68, which is also found in the LCI X5/6M albeit hybridized.

I get that the new Range Rover has an S63 under the hood.
But there's just no way on God's green earth that BMW is building Toyota a S58 powered DCT car, no way.

Does any info confirm xDrive for 2025 M2? Or other exterior color options?

Waiting to finalize my 2025 order until September when I think it was rumored a definitive announcement regarding AWD would be made...

Why bother the upgrade? Its the same car . Hope they sell the new soft for all of us. If you tune ir you can get 600

Do you happen to know if they can retrofit the drivers package?
Regards

There will be a +20 hp increase. I don't think the marketing team will gain any power in particular, unless of course they're all weight training

I might be wrong but I feel like the Supra hype sorta came and went. BMW doesn't see them as a threat im guessing? In my area it's extremely rare to see a Supra. I see more 3 series and 2 series than Supras. I see more 4 series than the 3, 2 and Supra all combined. I think most people will choose an M2, M3, M4 over a Supra with the same engine any day, unless of course they already have a fleet of cars and are just adding the Supra on top.

I’d guess it’s the revisions Toyota made for the Supra which received a lot of praise.
