I plan to put my money down this coming week.

I was ready to buy a F87 at CarMax a couple of years ago and they wouldn't sell it to me. An employee had it held and they wouldn't price it.

I'm an i4 owner and I like both the F87 and the G87.

Both have strength and weakness.

It definitely has less headroom than the M2/3 but has more legroom than the M2..

I don't really think it kills the trunk. The trunk is deep and you can remove the panel.

But I see my i4 M50 and the M2 that I plan to order as completely different functions.

If I'm going out for a night on the town, I'm taking the M50, I got full merino leather and the interior is definitely a step above the M2. It's quiet and has AWD and is an absolute beast up to 135Mph.

The M2 is my hooligan toy; visceral with a third pedal, no driving aids, no sunroof, etc. It will see auto-X, track days and the typical BMW meetups.

Won't be getting the carbon buckets because the clash with the 🟣.

US Configurator

Would love to see the configurator up on bmwusa.com! The pricing guide is super helpful though. Had my 230 M Sport for well over two years now, and probably gonna "ugprade" to a six cylinder 2 Series. M2 is seriously drawing me in, but feel I should check out the "LCI'd" M240. Both are too fast for the street anyway, so seems 'coo factor' is all I'm really chasing after that...M2 wins that comparo for my interests.

Unfortunately if they are like the UK, the individual colors won't be there. I could be wrong.

If you want xDrive then the M240 is your car. If you want a MT, the M2 is the ticket.

Everything else is a toss up. It really depends on what you want. For instance if you want purple and a sunroof, then it's a 240. If you want purple and a MT, then it's the M2.

Write down a list of must haves and then see which car or maybe both will meet the requirements.

I believe the individual colors can only be added after you get an allocation and resulting order number.

I don’t think the M2 follows the typical individual ordering process, which involves submitting an individual request form to corporate for approval.

If you look at the ordering/pricing guide, the individual colors in this instance have option codes (ZE1, ZE3, ZE4, ZE5), which is not the case for any other model.

Apparently you slept through the 0.9% 60-month financing on the M2 Comp in 2021.

Rates are a completely different topic and not unique to the auto industry.
When interest is high, it’s high for everything.
When interest is low, it’s low for everything.

Well you said “incentives” and that certainly was a significant one. And while interest rates overall were lower then, this was an exceptional deal. IMHO.

Yes I did, but in response to a comment with heavy emphasis on price, which suggested that waiting will result in a better price, which I do not anticipate to be the case at all.

If the poster I replied to had been emphasizing that waiting will yield a better interest rate, well yeah, I think that’s just common knowledge at this point.

Plus, 0% interest is always available, just pay cash! 😄

I don't think so either because it's in the guide.

My tartufo interior for my i4 required a phone call and a quote. The "Tanzanite II" paint was called individual and could take an additional 8-12 weeks but did not require approval.

I'm pretty sure the new "individual colors" appearing in the guide don't need approval and will add 8-12 weeks depending on the number of cars that want that color.

They group them so they can use a full container (whatever quantity that is) of paint in a specific period of time. They can't leave the container unused forever

Subsequently, they can “run out” of colors for a specific production month, including standard colors.
So if everyone wants the same color, it will eventually become unavailable for that production month, and allocations which haven’t yet gone into status 112 will be forced to change.

For the MY23 early builds, they were batch painting/building. Don't know if that continued/continues or just from the original mass from the people who sat on lists for a year+/-.

Nope, couldn't give me enough incentives to buy a G82. If I was given one, I would sell it and still buy a G87 or G80.
