Maybe I am the minority, but as soon as I coded off the piped in engine sound I found the speakers to be plenty good for the use case (read: deliberately loud car) and feel no compulsion to upgrade. Exhaust is way further up my list than any concerns over audio, but I only ever listen to music on a fast drive, otherwise the car is the worlds fastest audiobook.

I fired up BimmerCode to try to add the BW sound profiles, but couldn’t find it under any of the ‘normal mode’ modules and gave up - maybe someone can tell me what I’m missing there, surely it can’t be under expert mode?!
bmw apparently locked out the headunit coding options with iDrive 8.5. BW is no longer an option.

So you’re telling me that after hours of googling myself silly and the hour I literally just finished fiddling with hard lines and restoring backups was worthless!?

Seems about right. Maybe someday we get more options to play with? I did order a canDO+ to play with; not sure if any functionality intersects.

IKR? I, too, am pretty bummed about the HU module being 'locked' in iD8.5 ... but there are really only two things I must be able to remove via Bimmercode when I get my car, and both are apparently still 'code-able':

- Auto Stop/Start permanently off
and
- ASD permanently off

The latter, as you noted, is vital for any hope of a semblance of decent audio quality in any car so equipped. ASD is like variable-frequency static -- it affects clarity, both mechanically (inside the audio hardware/software) and aurally (inside your ears/head) -- and it is incredibly fatiguing and frustrating for most who have an even mildly discerning ear.

Almost any audio modification -- speakers, amplifier, DSP, etc. -- will louden or imbalance it (or both) unless it is deactivated or removed from the audio signal.

IMHO (longtime multi-disciplinary audiophile, with extensive audio-related contributions to the 2Addicts forum several years ago), one should not even entertain the thought of modifying an active sound-equipped vehicle's audio until said active audio is removed from the signal chain.

Not sure about the B&W profile- I don't have the car yet. For what it's worth I remember a thread where someone mentioned how the 2025 cars may not be compatible with all of the bimmercode features yet due to iDrive 8.5.
